Iowa's Kirk Ferentz Becomes Winningest Coach in Big Ten Conference History

ROSEMONT, Ill. – With a 47-7 win over UMass on Saturday, Iowa head football coach Kirk Ferentz collected his 206th career victory, passing Ohio State’s Woody Hayes to become the winningest coach in Big Ten history.

“On behalf of the Big Ten Conference, I want to congratulate Kirk Ferentz on becoming the winningest head coach in Big Ten football history,” said Big Ten Commissioner Tony Petitti. “This achievement is a testament to his leadership, consistency and commitment to excellence over nearly three decades at the University of Iowa.”

“The impact he has made on student-athletes, colleagues, the sport of football and the Iowa City community is immeasurable. We celebrate this historic milestone and the legacy he continues to build within the Big Ten.”

Ferentz won his 205th game as the Hawkeyes defeated Albany, 34-7, on Aug. 30, tying Hayes for the most by a head coach in all games played while a member of the Big Ten. Last season, he joined the former Buckeye legend as the only Big Ten coaches to win 200 games.

Ferentz now leads a list of head coaches that features Hayes (205), Amos Alonzo Stagg (199), Bo Schembechler (194), Joe Paterno (162), Hayden Fry (143), Henry Williams (136), Robert Zuppke (131), Lloyd Carr (122) and Barry Alvarez (118).

• The Week 3 slate features 16 Big Ten teams in action, including a pair of conference contests on Saturday when Northwestern hosts reigning Big Ten Champion Oregon at noon ET and Purdue welcomes USC at 3:30 p.m. The complete Week 3 schedule is to the right.

• Nine of the Big Ten’s 18 teams are mentioned in this week’s AP and US LBM Coaches Polls, announced on Sunday. The AP poll includes No. 1 Ohio State, No. 2 Penn State, No. 4 Oregon, No. 9 Illinois, No. 22 Indiana and No. 23 Michigan, with Nebraska and USC receiving votes. At No. 1, Ohio State leads nine Big Ten teams in the coaches’ poll (No. 2 Penn State, No. 5 Oregon, No. 9 Illinois, No. 19 Indiana and No. 22 Michigan), while Nebraska, USC and Washington also received recognition.

• The Big Ten announced its Big Ten Football Players of the Week, presented by IFS.ai on Monday. Michigan State’s Aidan Chiles and Washington’s Jonah Coleman were named Co-Offensive Players of the Week.

• Chiles recorded a career-high four touchdowns Saturday as the Spartans beat Boston College in double overtime, throwing the game-winning two-point conversion pass to Omari Kelly on the last play of the game. Coleman tied the modern Washington record with five rushing touchdowns in the Huskies' 70-10 win over UC Davis.

• Michigan State’s Jordan Hall captured Defensive Player of the Week honors after recording a career-high 15 tackles in the win over Boston College, with his nine solo stops marking a career best.

• Purdue’s Spencer Porath took home the Special Teams Player of the Week plaudit after registering the fourth multi-field goal game of his career, matching his career high by going 2-for-2 on field goal attempts. Porath connected on field goals from 25 yards and 43 yards, the latter the second-longest of his career.

• Ohio State’s Julian Sayin was named Freshman of the Week after finishing with 18 completions in 19 attempts for 306 yards with four touchdown passes and one interception in the Buckeyes’ 70-0 victory over Grambling State.

• Four Big Ten teams posted shutouts on Saturday, with Minnesota, Nebraska, Ohio State, and Penn State winning a combined 238-0. The Gophers outgained Northwestern State 484-42 in total yards and scored their most points in a game since 2001 (66), while the Huskers recorded their largest shutout since 1986, holding Akron to 175 total yards in the 68-0 victory. The Buckeyes surrendered just 166 total yards and only allowed one possession to cross midfield in the 70-0 victory against Grambling State, while the Nittany Lions held FIU to just 14 first downs, as they rolled to a 34-0 triumph.

• Iowa’s Kirk Ferentz won his 205th game as the Hawkeyes defeated Albany, 34-7, on Aug. 30, tying Woody Hayes for the most by a Big Ten head coach. Last season, he joined the former Buckeye legend as the only Big Ten coaches to win 200 games. Ferentz and the Hawkeyes look to make Big Ten history with a win this weekend against UMass.

• The Big Ten claimed back-to-back national championship titles for the first time since 1942 last season as Ohio State defeated Notre Dame, 34-23, in the 2024 College Football Playoff at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, Georgia. The Buckeyes brought home their sixth national championship to the Horseshoe in Columbus and first since the inaugural CFP National Championship in the 2014-15 season.

• The 2025 Discover Big Ten Championship Game will be held on Saturday, December 6, at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis and will be broadcast by FOX. The winner will represent the conference as the Automatic Qualifier (AQ) to the College Football Playoff.

The city of Indianapolis and Lucas Oil Stadium will play host to the 15th annual Big Ten Football Championship Game on December 6, 2025. Kickoff for the game is set at 8 p.m. ET. The winner will earn the Amos Alonzo Stagg Championship Trophy and a chance to play in the College Football Playoff.

FOX will serve as the official broadcast partner of the Big Ten Football Championship Game.

Oregon was crowned the 2024 Big Ten Football Champion following a 45-37 victory against Penn State. Michigan has won three Big Ten Championship games (2021, 2022, 2023), while Ohio State (2014, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020) has claimed five titles. Wisconsin (2011 and 2012) and Michigan State (2013 and 2015) have each won two Big Ten Championship Games, while Penn State was victorious in 2016. Ohio State and Wisconsin lead all schools with six Big Ten Championship Game appearances each, followed by Michigan State with three, Iowa, Michigan, Northwestern and Penn State with two each, and one title game berth each for Nebraska and Purdue.

Tickets for the 2025 Discover Big Ten Football Championship Game will go on sale to the general public on Monday, September 22^nd at 11 a.m. ET. The 15th annual Big Ten Football Championship Game will be played on Saturday, December 6 at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis. The contest will be broadcast nationally on FOX with kickoff set for 8 p.m. ET.

Tickets can be purchased through Ticketmaster at www.ticketmaster.com. Each order will be limited to eight (8) tickets.

How do I access my digital tickets?

If you purchased tickets via Ticketmaster during the public on-sale:

1. Login to your Ticketmaster account.

2. Select “My Tickets: Upcoming Events”.

3. Select “2025 Discover Big Ten Football Championship Game” to view your tickets.

If you purchased tickets through the renewal process:

1. Login to your Capital Improvement Board Ticketmaster Account Manager account.

2. Select “My Events”.

3. Select “2025 Discover Big Ten Football Championship Game” to view your tickets.

How do I accept tickets someone transfers to me?

To accept tickets via desktop or laptop computer

1. Locate the email with the details about the ticket transfer

2. Within the email, click “Accept Tickets”

3. To finalize the transfer, you’ll need to Login to your Ticketmaster account the tickets were transferred to. If you’re unsure, just use the same email address the email was sent to.

To accept tickets via mobile

1. Click on the link within the text message or email received

2. Login to your Ticketmaster Account

3. View tickets in your “My Account” by clicking the link “View Tickets”

How do I transfer tickets?

If you’re sending/transferring tickets:

1. Sign to My Account and click on your event to find your tickets

2. Click the “Transfer Tickets” button

3. Select the tickets you’d like to transfer

4. Enter your recipient's first and last name, email address and an optional note.

5. Click the “Send” button

When transferring tickets, we’ll send you two (2) emails: one confirming your ticket(s) have been sent and another when your recipient accepts the tickets you sent. Your recipient will also receive an email prompting them to accept your tickets. Once the ticket transfer has been accepted, the tickets in your account are no longer valid and you will not be able to get into the event with those tickets.

*Those receiving a ticket transfer must have a Ticketmaster My Account. If they do not have an account, they can easily create one when they accept the tickets.

What if my entire party isn't with me when I'm ready to enter the game and I have their digital tickets?

Transfer tickets in advance – so you don’t have to wait to get your game on! Since each person entering the venue will need a ticket to get in, you can easily transfer each member their ticket individually and prior to arrival. You can have multiple tickets on a single phone, but we recommend transferring each attendee their individual ticket. Visit My Account to get started.

Can I transfer tickets that someone transferred to me?

Yes, you can transfer tickets an unlimited amount up until the kickoff of the game and it is free.

Can I cancel a ticket transfer?

We know plans change, if you transferred tickets but need to cancel, you can do so in just a few steps. You may only cancel the ticket transfer if the tickets have not been accepted by the recipient. If they have been accepted, you will not be able to cancel, and the recipient must transfer the tickets back to you.

If the tickets have not been accepted:

1. Login to My Account and click on your event

2. Click the “Cancel Transfer” link next to the ticket you have sent

3. Complete your cancellation by clicking “Submit”

Both you and the recipient will receive emails stating the transfer has been canceled. You may now set-up a new ticket transfer or use them yourself.

Someone transferred tickets to me, but I lost the email. What do I do?

If this happens weeks or days before the game and you have not accepted the tickets yet, ask the provider to cancel the original transfer and transfer the tickets again. On the day of the game, provide the Ticket Office, located at the southeast corner of Lucas Oil Stadium, with your email address or name that the tickets were sent to. We will be able to assist and pull your tickets up through the account, then text you a direct link to access them.

Can I print my ticket from home?

No, all tickets are fully digital and only accessible via your mobile device. Your phone is your ticket.

Can I use a screenshot of my ticket?

No, a secure digital ticket must be presented either within the app, the mobile website or within your phone's wallet to gain entry into Lucas Oil Stadium. Screenshots will not be valid for entry.

What if I lose connectivity or cannot connect to my account?

To ensure entry into the game, we recommend downloading your tickets to your phone (Apple Wallet or Google Pay) before the day of the game. Once your tickets are stored there, you do not need any connectivity to access.

What if my phone breaks, dies, or is lost/stolen before I arrive?

Simply come to the box office on event day, present your photo ID, and verify either your email address or mobile phone number. At that point, we'll verify that you are the ticket holder of record and provide a ticket resolution.

Will the scanners at venues work through phone screen covers?

Yes - there should be no issue using a phone that has a clear screen protector.

Is there anything I need to do when I get to the venue to scan my mobile?

Make sure the backlight on the phone is set nice and bright. Scanners work much better with a bright screen, and it will save time at the venue entrance changing this if the ticket won't scan.

2025 TICKETS TERMS OF USE

By purchasing, accepting and/or using this ticket (“Ticket”) for entry into Lucas Oil Stadium (“Facility”) and access to the 2025 Discover Big Ten Conference Football Championship Game (“Event”), the person seeking entry to the Event (“Holder”) is deemed to have read the terms and conditions provided herein (“Terms”) applicable to Holder’s use of this Ticket and accepted and, therefore, agreed to be bound by them. The Ticket provides the Holder with a revocable and personal license to access the Facility and attend the Event, which may not be assigned or transferred by the Holder. The license granted to the Holder by this Ticket may be revoked or terminated upon any unauthorized use of the Ticket or any other breach of these Terms or any Policies contained herein without refund. Additionally, any breach of these Terms or any Policies may subject the Holder to applicable legal consequences.

Holder agrees to comply with any and all of the policies, protocols, guidelines, and requirements of The Big Ten Conference, Inc. (“Big Ten Conference”), its member institutions participating in the Event, and/or the Facility (individually or collectively, “Management”), and any and all other local, state, and federal laws, orders, guidelines, and requirements, which may be periodically revised in accordance with public health or other guidance including, without limitation, any security policies, fan or attendee conduct policies, health and safety policies, and/or any applicable bag policy that applies in connection with the Event and/or Facility (collectively, “Policies”). Holder may be ejected or refused entry to the Facility for violation of any Policy, or if Management, in its sole discretion, determines Holder poses a risk to the health or safety of other persons at the Facility. In the event Holder is ejected, Holder shall not be entitled to any refund for the Ticket. The Big Ten Conference further reserves all rights to pursue any and all other remedies available to it arising out of or related to Holder’s violation of any Terms or Policies.

Holder accepts and assumes any and all risk in connection with any ticket for the Event not obtained from a source authorized by Management and acknowledges and agrees that any such ticket may be stolen or counterfeit and may not be honored in Management’s sole discretion. Holder further acknowledges and agrees that lost, stolen, or damaged tickets may neither be replaced nor refunded. A change in the date, location, and/or starting time of the Event shall not constitute a revocation or cancellation of the Ticket and shall not entitle Holder to any refund of the Ticket or any amounts paid in connection with the same. Every person, regardless of age, must have a Ticket to enter the Facility. The Ticket allows for a one-time entry to the Event, and Holder will not be entitled to readmittance if Holder leaves the Facility for any reason.

Holder acknowledges and agrees that Holder has no right or expectation of privacy at the Event and consents to any and all searches of their person, including all items being carried onto the premises of the Event prior to or upon entry into the Facility and/or any other security checkpoints in or at the Facility or area therein. Holder may place personal items in a clear bag not to exceed 12” by 6” by 12” and/or may carry a small clutch bag no larger than 4.5” by 6.5”. Holder understands that all other bags, including any purses, backpacks, duffel bags, or any other similar items are prohibited and may be confiscated or disposed of by Management in its sole discretion.

Holder further agrees that outside alcoholic beverages or food, as well as any weapons (including any item Management may deem is or could be used as a weapon), bottles/tumblers, cans or containers, irritants (e.g., artificial noisemakers, etc.), projectiles, video cameras, strobe-lights or laser pointers are prohibited from the Event and Holder shall not bring any of the same in the Facility. Holder shall not take or record any video footage of the Event without prior express permission of the Big Ten Conference; provided, however, nothing herein shall limit or restrict Holder from taking photographs and distributing the same for Holder’s personal use only, and not for commercial, promotional, or business purposes.

Signs, flags or banners are not permitted within, and shall not be affixed to, the Facility without the approval of Management in its sole discretion. Promotional items (e.g., shakers, cups, flags, signs, etc.) with commercial slogans or identification are not allowed in the Facility without the permission of the Big Ten Conference. Unless expressly authorized in writing in advance by the Big Ten Conference, this Ticket may not be offered as a prize in a sweepstakes, contest or other promotion, or for any other commercial purpose. Holder may not solicit contributions or distribute literature in or at the Facility or otherwise on or about the premises. Nothing in these Terms grants Holder a right to use any trademarks, logos, or other intellectual property of the Big Ten Conference or any of its member institutions.

In the event the image, likeness, name, or voice of the Holder appears or is otherwise included in any broadcast, telecast, photograph, video, film, digital transmission, audio recording, social media post, retransmission, and/or other media production, depiction, or recording of the Event, Holder grants to the Big Ten Conference, the nonexclusive, transferable, perpetual, irrevocable, royalty-free, and unrestricted right and license to use, record, display, publish, reproduce, license, distribute, sublicense, and create derivative works from or including the name, image, likeness, and/or voice of Holder worldwide in any media now known or hereafter devised. Holder also grants permission to the Big Ten Conference, the Big Ten Conference’s designated media partner(s), and the Facility, including each of their respective affiliates and licensees, to utilize the Holder’s actions, image, likeness, name, voice, and statements in any medium (including, without limitation, audio, video, photograph, transmission, exhibition, or reproduction) or context for any purpose, including commercial or promotional purposes, without further authorization or compensation.

Holder voluntarily assumes all risks incidental to the Event and any causes thereof, including, without limitation, risks related to personal injury, exposure to communicable and/or infectious disease, death, or disability, property damage, loss, or theft, and Holder agrees to release, defend, indemnify and hold harmless, waive and discharge, and covenant not to sue the Big Ten Conference and its member institutions; the Facility, including, but not limited to, Lucas Oil Stadium, the City of Indianapolis, the Marion County Convention and Recreational Facilities Authority, the Indiana Sports Corporation, Capital Improvement Board of Managers of Marion County, Event management and/or promoters, lessors and/or owners of the facility; the Event participants, and each of their respective directors, officers, affiliates, heirs, beneficiaries, members, employees, volunteers, coaches, officials, independent contractors, equipment providers, agents, representatives, successors and assigns; and all other related and affiliated individuals and entities, and any and all other individuals and entities involved in and/or participating in the Event (collectively, the “Event Organizers”) from all claims, liabilities, demands, causes of action, losses, fees, damages, and expenses of any kind (collectively, “Claims”), whether directly or indirectly arising from or related to Holder’s attendance at the Facility and/or Event, including Claims attributable to the negligence of the Event Organizers.

Holder also fully assumes, acknowledges, and agrees to the Terms – including the acknowledgement, express assumption of risk, and release of liability above – on Holder’s own behalf and on behalf of any minor child(ren) at the Facility with Holder for whom Holder has the capacity to contract or bind. Holder shall indemnify and hold harmless the Event Organizers from any and all Claims arising out of or related to any act or omission, including any allegation thereof, by Holder or any such minor child(ren), including any breach of any Term herein. Further, in the event Holder brings any minor child(ren) for whom Holder does not have the capacity to contract or bind, Holder agrees to defend, indemnify, and hold the Event Organizers harmless from and against any Claims brought by or on behalf of any such minor child(ren).

This acknowledgement, express assumption of risk, and release of liability is intended to be as broad and inclusive as is permitted by law. If any part of this provision or these Terms is held to be invalid or legally unenforceable for any reason, the remainder of the provisions and Terms shall not be affected thereby and shall remain valid and fully enforceable.

2025 TICKET BACK LANGUAGE

This Ticket is subject to the 2025 Discover Big Ten Conference Football Championship Game Terms of Use (the “Terms”). The Terms can be accessed at www.bigten.org/FCG. Capitalized terms not otherwise defined herein shall have the meanings given to them in the Terms. Any instances in which the language herein conflicts with the Terms, the language of the Terms shall control. Without limiting the foregoing or anything otherwise provided in the Terms, Holder accepts the foregoing as a condition of use of this Ticket.

Holder agrees to comply with any and all Policies in connection with the Event and/or Facility. Holder may be ejected or refused entry to the facility for violation of any Policy, or if Management, in its sole discretion, determines Holder poses a risk to the health or safety of other persons at the Facility, without providing a refund for the Ticket. Additionally, a breach of the Terms or Policies may subject Holder to legal consequences, each of which are expressly reserved.

Holder acknowledges and agrees that Holder alone is responsible for any lost, damaged, stolen, or counterfeit ticket for the Event, and that the Big Ten Conference shall not be responsible to honor, refund, or replace any such ticket.

Every person, regardless of age, must have a Ticket to enter the Facility. The Ticket allows for a one-time entry to the Event, and Holder will not be entitled to readmittance if Holder leaves the Facility for any reason.

Holder consents to any and all searches of their person and all items being carried onto the premises of the Event prior to or upon entry into the Facility and/or other security checkpoints in or at the Facility. Holder may place personal items in a clear bag not to exceed 12” by 6” by 12” and/or may carry a small clutch bag no larger than 4.5” by 6.5”. No other purses or bags are permitted. Holder may not bring outside alcoholic beverages or food, weapons (or any item Management may deem a weapon), bottles/tumblers, cans or containers, irritants (e.g., artificial noisemakers, etc.), projectiles, video cameras, strobe-lights or laser pointers onto the premises of the Event. No video footage may be taken of the Event by the Holder without prior express permission of the Big Ten Conference. Signs, flags or banners are not permitted within or affixed to the Facility. Promotional items with commercial slogans or identification are not allowed without the permission of the Big Ten Conference. This Ticket may not be offered as a prize in a sweepstakes, contest or other promotion, or for any commercial purpose. Holder may not solicit contributions or distribute literature on the premises. Prohibited items may be confiscated and/or disposed of by Management.

Holder grants permission to the Big Ten Conference, the Big Ten Conference’s designated media partner(s), and the Facility, and each of their respective affiliates and licensees to utilize the Holder’s image, likeness, voice, actions, and statements in any medium (including, without limitation, audio, video, photograph, transmission, exhibition or reproduction) or context without restriction for any purpose, including commercial or promotional purpose, without further authorization or compensation.

Holder, individually and on behalf of any minor child(ren) for whom Holder has the capacity to contract or bind, voluntarily assumes all risks incidental to the Event and any causes thereof, including, without limitation, risks related to personal injury, exposure to communicable and/or infectious disease, death, or disability, property damage, loss, or theft, and agrees to release, indemnify and hold harmless, waive and discharge, and covenant not to sue Event Organizers from all claims, liabilities, demands, causes of action, losses, fees, damages, and expenses of any kind, whether directly or indirectly arising from or related to Holder’s attendance at the Facility and/or Event, including any Claim attributable to the Event Organizer’s negligence. Further, in the event Holder brings any minor child(ren) for whom Holder does not have the capacity to contract or bind, Holder agrees to defend, indemnify, and hold the Event Organizers harmless from and against any Claims brought by or on behalf of any such minor child(ren).

If any of the Terms are held to be invalid or legally unenforceable for any reason, the remainder of the Terms shall not be affected thereby and shall remain valid and fully enforceable.

FOOTBALL CHAMPIONSHIP GAME: STADIUM POLICIES

DOORS OPENING

Doors will open for the Discover Big Ten Football Championship Game at 6:15 p.m. ET

ENTRANCE

Whenever possible, fans should use the stadium entrance noted on their tickets. Stadium staff will assist fans by identifying entrances and exits with reduced congestion.

Ticketing will be almost completely mobile to create a more safe and secure entry experience for fans.

CONCESSIONS/MERCHANDISE

The Big Ten Football Championship Game will be cashless. Accepted forms of payment at concessions and the Colts Pro Shop include: Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover, Apple Pay, and Google Pay. Cash-to-card machines will be available for fans who need to exchange their cash for pre-paid debit cards. These machines will be available outside sections 116 and 543.

Alcoholic beverages will be allowed through the end of the third quarter throughout Lucas Oil Stadium for the Football Championship Game.

FIRST AID

First Aid stations are areas available to guests with disabilities and other who may require temporary refuge for a variety of reasons. First Aid personnel will be available to assist guests needing temporary refuge. Indiana University Medical provides First Aid to all public events inside Lucas Oil Stadium. The main First Aid office is located in the northwest corner of Street Level, across from section 145. There are four satellite First Aid Stations throughout the building, located on the Street Level across from section 118, on the Loge Level near section 323 and two located on the Terrace Level near sections 519 and 544. For emergencies during events, please find the nearest security person or usher and they will dispatch help to you, or contact Lucas Oil Stadium at 317-262-8600. Please refer to the stadium maps for exact locations.

GUEST SERVICES

Guest Services staff will be stationed throughout the stadium, and can assist guests with general inquiries, lost and found, directions, emergencies, as well as, assist with accommodations for guests with disabilities. There are six (6) guest services kiosks located throughout the stadium.

Lucas Oil Stadium is a fully accessible facility. All gates and entrances are accessible using wheeled mobility devices.

The South Lot is located on the corner of Missouri St. and McCarty St. directly adjacent to Lucas Oil Stadium. The South Lot will be open on Friday and will require a pass to enter on Saturday. Spaces will be allotted for the Big Ten Conference, administration from Big Ten member institutions, corporate partners, BTN and select game management personnel. Passes for this lot will be distributed by the Big Ten Conference.

GUEST CONDUCT POLICY

Big Ten football fans are the best in all of college sports because of their passion, enthusiasm, and team support. The players, coaches, staff and fans shape the Big Ten image. We encourage our fans to create a high-energy environment supporting their favorite team while maintaining a family-oriented atmosphere.

Lucas Oil Stadium has established Rules of Conduct that will allow everyone in attendance at the stadium to enjoy all aspects of a Big Ten game. Any violations of these rules could result in immediate ejection from the stadium.

These rules include, but are not limited to:

Anyone not credentialed attempting to enter the playing field, or unauthorized entry onto the playing field, and interfering with the progress of the game
Refusing to show ticket when asked by a stadium representative
Attempting to sit in seats for which you are not properly ticketed
Using foul or abusive language or gestures
Threatening other patrons with words and/or actions
Fighting
Throwing or kicking any object in LOS or onto the playing field
Interfering with other guests’ ability to enjoy the game
Wearing clothing with abusive or vulgar terminology or inappropriate photographs or symbols
Wearing obscene or indecent clothing
Standing on seats
Stepping over chairs from one row to another
Standing, sitting or loitering in aisles, stairs, ramps or other areas of conveyance
Placing food or beverages on walls, ledges or overhands that may spill or drop on guests below

INSPECTION & INAPPROPRIATE ITEMS

All guests will be subject to inspection upon entering Lucas Oil Stadium. The following items are not permitted in Lucas Oil Stadium: food and beverage items, bottles, cans, liquor containers, tumblers, weapons, coolers, bags, large purses, backpacks, video recorders, horns, artificial noisemakers, large signs, promotional items with commercial slogans or identification, all forms of fireworks, animals except for ADA service animals, any objects that obstruct another guest’s view of the playing field and any missile-like objects. Items that are considered irritants will also not be allowed inside Lucas Oil Stadium. These irritants include, but are not limited to: laser pointers, strobe lights, oversized flags, banners, or signs. The Big Ten Football Championship Game management staff will determine whether a specific item in this category represents an “irritant” to other patrons and whether it should be prohibited. Please be advised that nothing larger than a small personal handbag, subject to inspection, will be permitted inside Lucas Oil Stadium.

2025 Discover Big Ten Football Championship Game: Clear Bag Policy

A clear bag policy, similar to that used by the NFL, College Football Playoff, and other conference championship games will be in effect for the Big Ten Championship Game at Lucas Oil Stadium.

The clear bag policy affects the type and size of bags that are permitted into the stadium - not the items that fans normally need to bring to a game. Each fan may bring in items such as keys, makeup, combs, phones, wallets and credit cards. Fans may still bring items such as binoculars and cameras, provided they are not in cases, and may also carry a jacket into the stadium.

Bags must satisfy the guidelines below in order to be taken into Lucas Oil Stadium:

Bags that are clear plastic, vinyl or PVC and do not exceed 12" x 6" x 12" or 30.5 x 15.25 x 30.5 cm. This includes clear backpacks, clear fanny packs, and clear cinch bags that fit within the permissible dimensions.
One-gallon clear plastic freezer bag (Ziplock bag or similar)
Small bags, non-clear bags that do not exceed 4.5" x 6.5" in size, with or without a handle or strap can be taken into the stadium with one of the clear plastic bags.
An exception will be made for medically necessary items after proper inspection at the following gates: Northwest corner (employee entrance) OR Southeast corner (adjacent to Ticket Office)

Bags containing medical devices and related supplies, including breast pumps, are not subject to the clear bag policy, but will be subject to security screenings, including search, at the gates. All other bags, including diaper bags, must adhere to the clear bag policy. Diapers can be carried in a clear bag. Each member of a family, including children, is allowed to carry an approved clear bag into the stadium. Breast milk and required medications are permitted inside the stadium in clear bags or clear containers.

Prohibited items include, but are not limited to: coolers (unless medically necessary), briefcases, non-clear backpacks, non-clear fanny packs, diaper bags (unless medically necessary), non-clear cinch bags, non-approved seat cushions (unless medically necessary), luggage of any kind, computer bags and camera or binocular bags or any non-clear bag larger than the permissible size (4.5" x 6.5").

The Big Ten is encouraging fans to arrive early and leave any unnecessary items at home or in their cars. Gates at Lucas Oil Stadium will open at 6:00 p.m. ET on the day of the championship game to accommodate early arriving fans.

Working personnel, including media, will continue to enter Lucas Oil Stadium through designated gates where they will be subject to screening and bag inspections already in effect for the Big Ten Football Championship Game.

Every 2025 Discover® Big Ten Football Championship Game ticket will allow complimentary admission into Big Ten Fan Fest presented by Dr Pepper at the Indiana Convention Center Friday, Dec. 5, from 3 p.m. until 9 p.m. ET and Saturday, Dec. 6, from 10 a.m. until 8 p.m. ET. More than 200,000 square feet in the Indiana Convention Center will be dedicated to interactive games, entertainment, Big Ten merchandise, giveaways, food and beverages, and much more.
Band performances will be held on Saturday, Dec. 6, with the Away Team (#2) band and cheerleaders performing at 5:15 p.m. ET, followed by the Home Team (#1) band and cheerleaders at 6 p.m. ET.
For individuals without game tickets, Big Ten Fan Fest tickets may be purchased at www.ticketmaster.com. • The Big Ten combined to go 16-2 in Week 1 contests, highlighted by Ohio State defeating No. 1 Texas, 14-7. The Buckeyes have now won six straight games against AP top-five teams, tying the longest streak in Big Ten history and becoming just the seventh FBS team all-time to have a streak of that length. It was their first regular season win against the AP No. 1 team since 1985.

• The Big Ten announced its first Big Ten Football Players of the Week, presented by IFS.ai on Monday. USC’s Jayden Maiava and Washington’s Jonah Coleman were named Co-Offensive Players of the Week.

• Maiava went 15-of-18 (.833) with a pair of touchdowns for 295 yards with a long of 73 yards to lead the Trojans to a 73-13 victory over Missouri State to open the 2025 season. The 2025 Discover Big Ten Championship Game will be held on Saturday, December 6, at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis and will be broadcast by FOX. The winner will represent the conference as the Automatic Qualifier (AQ) to the College Football Playoff.
The National College Football Awards Association announced the 2025 watch lists July 28-Aug. 11. All 18 schools are represented with Oregon’s 21 honors leading the way, followed by Ohio State and Penn State’s 20, 18 for Indiana and Illinois with 14. The full list of Big Ten standouts featured on the 2025 NCFAA watch lists can be found on page 2.
The conference announced its 14th annual football preseason honors list. A media panel selected the 16-member preseason list, with student-athletes representing seven programs. The full list of honorees can be found on page 2.
The Big Ten will welcome a new coach to the sidelines for the 2025 campaign in Purdue’s Barry Odom.
The Big Ten claimed back-to-back national championship titles for the first time since 1942 last season as Ohio State defeated Notre Dame, 34-23, in the 2024 College Football Playoff at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, Georgia. The Buckeyes brought home their sixth national championship to the Horseshoe in Columbus and first since the inaugural CFP National Championship in the 2014-15 season.
In 2024-25, the four most viewed college football games of the season featured Big Ten teams, as did seven of the top 10, and 12 of the top 20. Three broadcast television partners – CBS, FOX and NBC – had at least one Big Ten matchup with more than 9.5 million viewers. Twenty-one Big Ten football games had an audience of more than five million viewers.
The Big Ten finished last season with five teams ranked in the AP Top 25, the second-most of any conference, including four teams ranked in the top 10. The 2025 AP Preseason Poll features six Big Ten teams in No. 2 Penn State, No. 3 Ohio State, No. 7 Oregon, No. 12 Illinois, No. 14 Michigan and No. 20 Indiana, while Iowa, Nebraska and USC received votes.

CREDENTIAL DISTRIBUTION
Media attending Big Ten Football Media Days may pick up credentials at the Jasmine Registration Desk South on the third floor of the Mandalay Bay Convention Center. Credential distribution hours will be from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. PT on Tuesday, 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. PT on Wednesday and 9 a.m. until 12 p.m. PT on Thursday.

RADIO ROW
At school discretion, coaches and student-athletes can be made available for interviews with on-site radio shows at any time as long as interviews do not conflict with other required media sessions. All interviews must be coordinated with school communications staff representatives. Radio Row will open daily at 8 a.m. PT.

The Big Ten Conference Communications Staff will host a media reception on Wednesday, July 23, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. PT at Rhythm & Riffs Lounge on the Casino Floor of Mandalay Bay. Media are welcome to enjoy light bites and drinks. All guests must be 21 years of age with valid ID.

ROSEMONT, Ill. - The Big Ten Conference announced Wednesday the complete list of football student-athletes scheduled to attend the 2025 Big Ten Football Media Days presented by Discover®.

This year’s event will feature a three-day format, July 22-24, in Las Vegas with Big Ten Network providing live coverage of all three days. Each of the conference’s 18 institutions will be represented by its head coach and three student-athletes.

Big Ten Conference Recognizes 111th Medal of Honor Class

ROSEMONT, Ill. – The Big Ten Conference is celebrating its 111th class of recipients who earned the Big Ten Medal of Honor from their respective institutions during the 2024-25 academic year. Established in 1915, the Big Ten Medal of Honor is the conference’s most prestigious award. It was the first award in intercollegiate athletics to demonstrate support for the educational emphasis placed on athletics.

The Big Ten Medal of Honor is awarded to one male and one female student-athlete from the graduating class of each member institution who has demonstrated excellence on and off the field throughout their collegiate career. This year’s class comprised student-athletes from 15 sports.

Big Ten schools currently feature more than 11,000 student-athletes, but only 36 earn the award on an annual basis. Since the Big Ten Medal of Honor was first presented more than a century ago, just over 1,680 student-athletes have earned this unique distinction. Those names are on permanent display at the Big Ten Office in Rosemont.

New Era Begins As House Settlement Approved

WASHINGTON, D.C. – June 6, 2025 – Today marks a historic milestone for college athletics in the United States. The U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California has granted final approval to a settlement in the House v. NCAA (“House”) litigation. This landmark settlement – agreed to by plaintiffs representing nearly 400,000 current and former student-athletes and the NCAA, Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC), Big Ten Conference, Big 12 Conference, Pac-12 Conference and Southeastern Conference (SEC) – will reshape the landscape of college sports, paving the way for a model that prioritizes fairness, stability, integrity and opportunity for student-athletes and institutions.

Overseeing this model will be the newly established College Sports Commission – an independent body that will be responsible for implementing the settlement terms governing revenue sharing, student-athlete Name, Image and Likeness (NIL) deals and roster limits. The Commission will investigate any potential violations of these rules, make determinations regarding potential rules violations and penalties, provide notice and opportunity to be heard, participate in the arbitration process and ultimately administer penalties for violations of these rules. The Commission’s leadership team will be announced in the near future.

Under the new system, student-athletes will have more opportunities to financially benefit during their participation in intercollegiate athletics than ever before. Institutions are now able to share revenue directly with student-athletes, in addition to providing existing benefits such as athletic scholarships, access to world-class training facilities, academic counseling, medical care, post-eligibility medical coverage, mental health resources, nutritional guidance and life skills development.

Beginning July 1, 2025, each year, participating schools can distribute up to 22% of the average revenue among schools in the ACC, Big Ten, Big 12, Pac-12 and SEC from media rights, ticket sales, and sponsorships – known as the revenue sharing cap. The cap is estimated at $20.5 million per school for the 2025-26 academic year, pending final confirmation. To ensure revenue sharing with student-athletes is appropriately managed and reported to the Court for compliance, athletics departments will use the new College Athlete Payment System (CAPS) platform developed by LBi Software.

Student-athletes will also be able to continue receiving compensation from third-parties other than their institutions for the use of their NIL, so long as their NIL deals are made with the purpose of using their NIL for a valid business purpose and do not exceed a reasonable range of compensation. On behalf of the College Sports Commission, Deloitte* has built and will maintain a new technology platform called NIL Go in which student-athletes will be required to report their NIL deals to confirm they are in compliance with the rules. Deals will be evaluated based on:

Payor association – The relationship between the payor and the student-athlete’s school.
Valid business purpose – Whether the payor is seeking the use of the student-athlete’s NIL for a valid business purpose, meaning to sell a good or service to the public for profit.
Range of compensation – Whether the compensation paid to the student-athlete is commensurate with compensation paid to similarly situated individuals.

Finally, for participating schools, NCAA scholarship limits have been removed and roster limits have been established for each sport, allowing for a significant increase in scholarship opportunities for student-athletes. Under this new model, schools will have the option to offer partial or full scholarships to every student-athlete on a team’s roster, as long as the total number of student-athletes stays within the sport’s specific roster limit. Efforts have also been made to ensure current and immediately incoming student-athletes are not adversely impacted by the establishing of roster limits. Removing scholarship limits allows schools to better support their student-athletes through new scholarships, particularly in non-revenue-generating sports.

“We look forward to implementing this historic settlement designed to bring stability, integrity and competitive balance to college athletics while increasing both scholarship and revenue opportunities for student-athletes in all sports,” said Tony Petitti, Commissioner of the Big Ten Conference.

We look forward to implementing this new system which offers much-needed transparency and structure to create a more sustainable model for the long-term future of college athletics,” said Jim Phillips, Ph.D., Commissioner of the Atlantic Coast Conference.

“As we enter this new era of college athletics, it is crucial we do so with structure, transparency, and the success of student-athletes in mind — this settlement and new model will ensure that happens. As the journey to modernize collegiate sports continues, we remain focused on identifying and implementing innovative opportunities for our student-athletes across all sports while maintaining the core values that make collegiate athletics uniquely meaningful,” said Greg Sankey, Commissioner of the Southeastern Conference.

Following are significant dates related to the implementation of the settlement:

June 6, 2025: Settlement approved; settlement-related NCAA rules are effective, as adopted by the NCAA Division 1 Board on April 21, 2025.
June 11 2025: NIL Go portal launches.
June 15, 2025: Opt-in deadline for non-defendant schools to fully commit to revenue sharing.
July 6, 2025: Opt-in schools must “designate” student-athletes permitted by the settlement to remain above roster limits.
July 1, 2025: First date for direct institutional revenue sharing payments to student-athletes.
Start of 2025-26 academic year: With the exception of the “designated” student-athletes, Fall sports must be at or below roster limits by their first day of competition.
December 1, 2025: With the exception of “designated” student-athletes, Winter and Spring sports must be at or below roster limits by their first day of competition or Dec. 1, whichever is earlier.

Big Ten Conference Announces Television Schedule for Early Season Football Games

ROSEMONT, Ill. – The Big Ten Conference, in partnership with Big Ten Network, CBS Sports, FOX Sports and NBC Sports, announced on Thursday kickoff times and network designations for the first three weeks of the 2025 football season, along with select additional contests.

The 2025 campaign will mark the second featuring a full schedule of Big Ten football on three over-the-air broadcast networks (CBS, FOX, NBC) in addition to comprehensive cable coverage across Big Ten Network and FS1, and direct-to-consumer delivery via Peacock, the FOX Sports app, and Paramount+. At least 55 conference football games will air on broadcast networks throughout the fall, providing unprecedented access and exposure.

The season will culminate on Saturday, December 6, at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis where No. 1 and No. 2 will meet in the Big Ten Football Championship Game presented by Discover® (FOX; 8 p.m. ET/7 p.m. CT/5 p.m. PT).

Kickoff times and television designations not announced today will be determined and distributed according to the 12-/6-day in-season selection process.

The Big Ten Conference Announces Inaugural “Big Ten Jackie Robinson Community & Impact Award” for Student-Athletes

ROSEMONT, Ill – In honor of Jackie Robinson’s core values of courage, determination, teamwork, persistence, integrity, citizenship, justice, commitment, and excellence, the Big Ten Conference today announced the inaugural Big Ten Jackie Robinson Community & Impact Award to recognize the conference’s student-athletes who have made an exceptional impact in their local community. Before breaking Major League Baseball’s color barrier, Jackie Robinson was a standout student-athlete at UCLA, where he was the school’s first four-sport letter winner, excelling in football, basketball, track and field, and baseball.

Student-athletes will be nominated based on the following criteria:

Demonstrated Impact: Significant and tangible contributions to community projects or causes, including measurable outcomes or positive changes resulting from their involvement.

Collaboration and Teamwork: Ability to work effectively with others, including peers, organizations, and community members, to achieve common goals and enhance community impact.

Consistency and Commitment: Ongoing and consistent participation in community service activities over an extended period of time.

Visibility and Advocacy: Efforts to raise awareness and advocate for important groups or causes, leveraging their platform to promote positive change and engage others.

"The Big Ten Jackie Robinson Community & Impact Award celebrates Jackie’s legacy of excellence in community service,” said Sonya Pankey Robinson, Jackie’s first grandchild, Director and board member of the Jackie Robinson Foundation. "Our student-athletes make significant contributions through competition, academics, and community impact,” said Big Ten Senior Vice President, Community & Impact, Omar Brown. “This award allows the Big Ten to recognize these efforts in improving communities, just as we do with their other achievements. Jackie Robinson embodies this award and our goal to honor student-athletes who positively impact others."

Each Big Ten member-institution can nominate two student-athletes, one male and one female, from their respective schools. The Big Ten Conference will select two Jackie Robinson Community & Impact award winners, from the 36 nominations, who will be announced by the Big Ten Conference this spring. All remaining nominees will be recognized with individual awards for their contributions to their local communities.

The Big Ten Conference’s commitment to athletics, academics and service goes back to the conference’s founding. Coupling the academic goals set forth by leaders of the charter members of the conference with their steadfast commitment to athletics, the conference instituted the Big Ten Medal of Honor in 1915, the first award to demonstrate support for the educational emphasis placed on intercollegiate athletics. It is awarded annually by each member institution to one male and one female student of the graduating class who has attained the greatest proficiency in scholarship and athletics.

In June of 2020 the conference launched the Big Ten Equality Coalition. This group, which features student-athletes, coaches, athletic directors, chancellors, presidents and other members, has a stated goal of seeking tangible ways to actively and constructively combat racism and hate around the world, while also empowering student-athletes to express their rights to free speech and peaceful protest. An important initiative resulting from conversations initiated by the coalition was the Big Ten Voter Registration Initiative.

In recent years, several delegations of conference student-athletes and administrators have traveled to Selma and Montgomery, Alabama, for an immersive civil rights educational experience entitled: “Big Life Series: Selma to Montgomery.” The visit to one of the key centers of the civil rights movement was highlighted by marching across the Edmund Pettus Bridge in Selma to learn more about the profound impact that young people had on the civil rights movement.

Additionally, the Big Ten Conference is dedicated to making a lasting impact on the communities where its major events are held hosting sports clinics, renovating recreation centers, and giving elementary-aged children a behind-the-scenes experience with major Big Ten events. In all cases the conference focuses on creating meaningful improvements aimed at leaving each location better than it was found. Most recently, the Big Ten collaborated with the College Football Playoff Foundation, local sports organizations and local school districts to enhance spaces for teachers and children while providing additional educational and athletic opportunities for children.

As Jackie Robison famously said, “A life is not important except in the impact it has on other lives."

Postseason competition opens this weekend as three Big Ten teams compete in first-round games of the new expanded College Football Playoff. Ohio State and Penn State will both play host to Tennessee and SMU, respectively, on Saturday, while Indiana travels to South Bend, Ind., to take on the Notre Dame Fighting Irish. The complete schedule can be found to the right.
After breaking program records for conference wins (8), offensive touchdowns (68), and overall record (11-1), the Hoosiers will seek their first win against No. 7 Notre Dame (11-1) in South Bend since 1906. Indiana has the most offensive touchdowns of any team in the country and the second-fewest yards allowed per game (244.8).
The No. 8 seed Ohio State will host the No. 9 seed Tennessee in a College Football Playoff first-round game Friday, December 21 at 8 p.m. in Ohio Stadium. The game will mark the first time Ohio State will play a December home game in Ohio Stadium with the winner advancing to the quarterfinals of the College Football Playoffs to play Oregon at the Rose Bowl.
Looking for the program’s ninth national title, Ohio State (10-2) will battle Tennessee (10-2) in their second meeting all-time. In the 1995 Citrus Bowl, a Peyton Manning-led Tennessee bested Heisman-winner Eddie George and the Buckeyes. The game will mark the first time Ohio State will play a December home game in Ohio Stadium with the winner advancing to the quarterfinals of the College Football Playoffs to play Oregon at the Rose Bowl. With the top defense in the country, Ohio State ranks first in yards allowed per game (241.1) with the Vols not far behind in fourth (278.0 yards allowed per game).
The Nittany Lions (11-2) and Mustangs (11-2) face off tomorrow for the first time since 1978. Armed with All-Americans on both sides of the ball in John Mackey Award-winner Tyler Warren and Big Ten Defensive Player of the Year Abdul Carter, Penn State looks to take home its third national championship.
Penn State’s offense, averaging 448.6 yards per game, will have openings against a 28th-ranked SMU defense. The Mustangs have allowed 326.1 yards per game this season, compared to Penn State’s 282.1 average yards allowed and sixth-ranked defense.
Six Big Ten standouts took home national honors this season. Indiana head coach Curt Cignetti was captured the Eddie Robinson Award, Ohio State’s Seth McLaughlin claimed the Rimington Trophy, Oregon’s Bryce Boettcher earned the Burlsworth Trophy, Penn State’s Nick Dawkins took home the Wuerffel Trophy and Tyler Warren won the John Mackey Award, while USC’s Eddie Czaplicki collected the Ray Guy Award.
A total of 8,271,772 fans attended Big Ten home games this season. Excluding 2020, this marks the 11th consecutive season and 12th time in 13 seasons that more than six million fans have attended Big Ten home football games.
Oregon was crowned Big Ten Champion after its 45-37 win against Penn State in the Big Ten Championship Game presented by Discover on Dec. 7 at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis. Jordan James ran for two scores to help Oregon win its first league title since 2020. Tez Johnson was selected the game’s MVP after catching 11 passes for 181 yards one score.

Big Ten Conference Releases 2025 Football Schedule

ROSEMONT, Ill. – The Big Ten Conference today announced the 2025 football schedule. The 2025 schedule marks the second season with 18 teams, no divisional format and the use of the Flex Protect XVIII model.

The model features a combination of protected opponents and rotating opponents for universities. Each member institution will continue to play nine intraconference games per season, and teams will play every other conference opponent at least twice – once home and once away – and will play rotating opponents no more than three times in a five-year period.

The 2025 season will conclude with the annual Big Ten Football Championship Game at Lucas Oil Stadium, which will feature the top two teams in the overall conference standings at the end of the regular season, with the winner earning the Big Ten Championship.

Selected Saturday games in the 2025 season may be adjusted to select Fridays and other special dates, including Labor Day Sunday and Black Friday. The 2026 football schedule will be announced in the future.

Twelve Big Ten Schools Slated for Postseason Action

ROSEMONT, Ill. – Twelve Big Ten schools were selected for postseason competition on Sunday, highlighted by invitations to the College Football Playoff for Indiana, Ohio State, Oregon and Penn State.

The undefeated Ducks were ranked No. 1 by the College Football Playoff selection committee and clinched one of four first-round byes with their 45-37 win over Penn State in the 2024 Discover Big Ten Championship Game. Oregon will face the winner of No. 8 Ohio State vs. No. 9 Tennessee on Jan. 1 at 5 p.m. ET at Rose Bowl Stadium in Pasadena, Calif.

Penn State was ranked No. 4 by the committee and will make its first-ever appearance in the College Football Playoff when it hosts No. 10 SMU in the first round on Saturday, Dec. 21. Kickoff is slated for noon in Beaver Stadium and the game will air on TNT and Max. The winner of Penn State-SMU will take on Boise State in the quarterfinal game at the VRBO Fiesta Bowl.

ROSEMONT, Ill. – Four Big Ten teams have been selected to participate in the inaugural 12-team College Football Playoff: Indiana, Ohio State, Oregon and Penn State.

Penn State was ranked No. 4 by the committee and will make its first-ever appearance in the College Football Playoff when it hosts No. 10 SMU in the first round on Saturday, Dec. 21. Kickoff is slated for noon in Beaver Stadium and the game will air on TNT and Max. The first-round game will be a Penn State White Out. The winner of Penn State-SMU will take on Boise State in the quarterfinal game at the VRBO Fiesta Bowl.

Indiana was tabbed No. 10 and will travel to South Bend to take on the Notre Dame Fighting Irish in first-round action on Friday, December 20 at 8 p.m. ET. The game will air on ABC and ESPN. The meeting with Notre Dame (11-1) will be the 29th all-time meeting and first since 1991 when the two teams met in South Bend. A victory would send the Hoosiers to the Sugar Bowl against No. 2 Georgia on Jan. 1 at Mercedes-Benz Stadium.

Oregon Claims Discover Big Ten Football Championship

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — Dillon Gabriel threw four touchdown passes and No. 1 Oregon outlasted No. 3 Penn State 45-37 on Saturday night in the Big Ten championship, giving the Ducks a first-round bye and almost certainly the top seed in the College Football Playoff.

The Ducks (13-0, No. 1 CFP) are the only unbeaten team in FBS — barely. They nearly blew a 15-point lead in the final four minutes, ending the Nittany Lions’ last gasp with Nikko Reed’s interception of Drew Allar’s pass with 1:54 left on a wild, wacky championship weekend.

Jordan James ran for two scores to help Oregon win its first league title since 2020 in the Pac-12, this one coming in its first year in the Big Ten. Tez Johnson was selected the game’s MVP after catching 11 passes for 181 yards one score.

“These guys can take it all the way if they continue to work and I can guarantee you they continue to work,” Ducks coach Dan Lanning said.

Penn State (11-2, No. 3 CFP) also is expected to make the first 12-team playoff field despite having its four-game winning streak snapped after failing to convert a 2-point conversion early in the fourth quarter — leaving it down 38-30.

Oregon capped the ensuing a 75-yard drive with James’ 12-yard TD run to make it 45-30 with 7:28 to go.

But Allar responded with a nifty 14-yard TD pass to Harrison Wallace III with 3:41 to play and Penn State forced a punt, giving Allar one more chance to tie it.

Gabriel finished 22 of 32 with 283 yards, hooking up with Kenyon Sadiq twice in the first half when the teams combined for a championship-game record 55 points. The previous mark, 52, came in 2012.

Sadiq had only two catches in the game — hurdling a defender on the way to his first score. James rushed 20 times for 87.

Allar was 20 of 39 with 236 yards with three TDs and two interceptions. Kaytron Allen had 14 carries for 124 yards and one score, and Nicolas Singleton carried 10 times for 101 yards and caught a TD pass. Tyler Warren had seven receptions for 64 yards.

Both teams allowed their highest point totals this season.

Oregon and Penn State have earned berths into the 14th Big Ten Football Championship Game presented by Discover at 8 p.m. (ET) Saturday at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, with the game televised to a live nationwide audience on CBS and broadcast on radio via Compass Media Network. In its inaugural season in the Big Ten, Oregon is making its first appearance in the Big Ten Football Championship Game, while Penn State will be making its second appearance in the title contest and first since 2016.
At the conclusion of Saturday’s game, one student-athlete will be chosen by a select media panel as the Grange-Griffin Most Valuable Player of the Big Ten Football Championship Game. Offensive players have earned the award 11 times (seven quarterbacks, four running backs) in the game’s 13-year history, including the only two-time recipient, Michigan State quarterback Connor Cook (2013 and 2015). Michigan defensive back Mike Sainristil became the second defensive player to earn the award in 2023.
This will be the fifth meeting between the Ducks and the Nittany Lions, with Penn State leading the all-time series 3-1. This will be the first Big Ten matchup between the two schools and first since the 1995 Rose Bowl, with Penn State earning a 38-20 win to conclude a 12-0 season.
Penn State is seeking its fifth Big Ten Football Championship and first since 2016, when it beat Wisconsin 38-31. The Nittany Lions have won three Big Ten football titles in their history (1994, 2005, 2008).
Oregon clinched a Big Ten Championship berth after a 16-13 win over Wisconsin on December 7. The Ducks finished the regular season undefeated for the first time since 2010 and the second time in program history. Oregon is the only FBS team to go undefeated in the regular season and one of just four to go unbeaten in conference play. The Ducks went 9-0 in conference play for the second time in program history, joining the 2010 team that went on to play for a national championship. Oregon’s 13-game win streak is the longest active winning streak into the postseason.
After Ohio State’s 13-10 loss to Michigan, Penn State secured second place in the Big Ten with a 44-7 win over Maryland. Penn State finished with an 8-1 conference record (11-1 overall) which tied its best since 2016. Penn State reached 11 wins in a season for the 20th time in program history and 11 regular season wins for the seventh time. The Nittany Lions won 11 games in a season for the fifth time under James Franklin.
Four Big Ten teams appear in the AP Poll this week. Oregon leads the conference at No. 1, followed by No. 3 Penn State, No. 9 Indiana and No. 22 Illinois.
The Big Ten Conference remains firmly positioned within this week’s College Football Playoff (CFP) rankings, with Oregon at No. 1, Penn State at No. 3, Indiana at No. 9 and Illinois at No. 21. The final CFP rankings will be released Sunday — later in the day, the matchups for the CFP national quarterfinals, semifinals, and the Big Ten’s other bowl destinations will be announced.
A record 12 Big Ten Conference schools – Oregon, Penn State, Indiana, Ohio State, Illinois, Iowa, Michigan, Minnesota, Rutgers, USC, Washington, and Nebraska – have clinched bowl berths by reaching six victories on the season.
This season’s CFP will consist of four rounds. The first round will be hosted by the higher seeds (5 vs. 12, 8 vs. 9, 6 vs. 11, and 7 vs. 10) on Friday, Dec. 20 and Saturday, Dec. 21. The remaining teams will advance to the quarterfinals to play the 1-4 seeds as part of the Fiesta Bowl, Peach Bowl, Rose Bowl and Sugar Bowl on Dec. 31 and Jan. 1. The semifinals will be hosted by the Orange Bowl on Thursday, Jan. 9 and Cotton Bowl on Friday, Jan 10. The competition among all 18 Big Ten schools helped address the nationwide blood shortage, inspiring tens of thousands of blood donations across the country and saving thousands of lives. The Big Ten school with the most blood donations will accept "The We Give Blood Drive" trophy during the Championship Game this Saturday night, as well as $1 million from Abbott to advance student or community health. In addition, fans attending this weekend’s Big Ten Fan Fest presented by Dr Pepper can donate blood at two locations on Friday, December 6, 2024, from 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. in room 131 of the Indiana Convention Center (sign up here) and from noon – 4 p.m. just outside the Convention Center on Georgie Street between Capitol Ave. and Illinois Street (sign up here). Anyone who presents to donate will receive a branded winter hat and be entered to win tickets to the championship game.

Elementary School Renovation
With the media center at Robert Lee Frost School 106 in Indianapolis in need of renovation, the Big Ten Conference in collaboration with the Indianapolis Public Schools Foundation, Indiana Sports Corp, School Specialty, and the College Football Playoff Foundation will come together to update and improve the school’s media center, surprising the young students and faculty. Big Ten Commissioner Tony Petitti, Robert Lee Frost School 106 Principal Dwayne Lucas, Indiana Sports Corp President Patrick Talty and Indianapolis Public Schools Superintendent Dr. Aleesia Johnson, will be joined Thursday by dozens of excited students and school staff.

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Indiana
In partnership with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Indiana, Indiana Sports Corp and the Big Ten Conference, 20 students in grades six and seven, along with their “Bigs” will enjoy a unique behind-the-scenes experience and exposure to different careers in sports at Lucas Oil Stadium this Friday. Students will learn about marketing, public relations, operations, and sales and will have an opportunity to meet with Commissioner Petitti.

Classroom Resource Grants for Teachers
Enjoying the game this Saturday are 15 teachers from across the state of Indiana. In collaboration with the College Football Playoff Foundation, the Big Ten Conference and Indiana Sports Corp, each of the 15 teachers received a grant to support a classroom project and resources at their school. For a total of $40,000, this grant aims to support and celebrate innovative teaching and learning. Teaching kindergarten to seventh grade, the teachers hail from the following communities: Indianapolis, Flora, Carmel, West Lafayette, Burnettsville, Trafalgar, Whiteland, Richland, Lawrence and Lafyette.

Flag Football Clinic for Special Olympics and Boys & Girls Club of America
At Saturday’s Fan Fest, more than 350 young students from the Special Olympics and Boys & Girls Club of America are learning flag football thanks to the Big Ten Conference, USA Football, and Indiana Sports Corp at Saturday’s Big Ten Fan Fest. Students will not only learn flag football, they will also receive four complimentary Fan Fest tickets, a football, and a clinic t-shirt with support from Old National Bank.

Digital Food Drive
The Big Ten Tackles Hunger Fundraising Campaign, from December 4-8, is raising funds to provide equitable access to nutritious food for families facing hunger across Indianapolis. In partnership with Meijer and Hellmann’s, Indiana Sports Corp and Gleaner’s Food Bank have created a donation page to fundraise via a donation competition between the two championship game teams. In addition, those attending this weekend’s Big Ten Fan Fest can donate digitally with volunteers on site.

DIRECTV Supporting Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central Indiana
At the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central Indiana chapter in downtown Indianapolis, families often spend days, weeks, or months caring for a child in the hospital. On Friday morning, DIRECTV will formally announce it is providing new televisions for every bedroom in the downtown Indianapolis house and will surprise a family with tickets to Fan Fest and Saturday’s football championship game.

Kid Captains from Peyton Manning Children’s Hospital at Ascension St. Vincent
Two patients from Peyton Manning Children’s Hospital at Ascension St. Vincent (PMCH), Ian, 12, and Madelyn, 11, have been selected as the Honorary Kid Captains for the Discover 2024 Big Ten Football Championship Game. Chosen by the Children’s Hospital’s care team to serve as honorary captains, each will receive special recognition at Lucas Oil Stadium this Saturday.

Ian and his twin brother were born two months early, each diagnosed with sickle cell anemia. Ian suffered a stroke at 15 months old, limiting the function of his right arm and necessitating lifelong monthly blood transfusions to prevent future strokes. At age three, he had two neurosurgeries to improve blood flow in his brain. At age three, Ian underwent a fragile bone marrow transplant and was ultimately cured of sickle cell anemia. Soon after, it was discovered he had hearing loss in both ears, and he now wears hearing aids. Ian's twin brother was diagnosed with leukemia and passed away this summer after an extensive palliative fight. Ian was by his side through it all. From this experience, he dreams of inventing new solutions to medical and physical challenges that kids face. Ian is representing the University of Oregon.

Madelyn was born with a rare genetic disease called Autosomal Recessive Polycystic Kidney Disease. The day after she was born, she was taken into surgery and placed on peritoneal dialysis. After two-and-a-half months in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), Madelyn went home with feeding difficulties and a temporary NG tube. Later, she had a G-tube inserted. She has been hospitalized at Peyton Manning Children's Hospital at Ascension St. Vincent numerous times for life-threatening illnesses. In 2016, Madelyn was hospitalized for more than a month with pneumonia. She was sedated for so long that she lost muscle strength and had to go through physical therapy to gain her strength back to walk. In June 2017, she was ready for a kidney transplant, having one of her kidneys removed and a hemodialysis catheter placed in her chest. In August 2017, she had her other kidney removed. Her uncle, John, donated his kidney to her. She continues to battle health illnesses, but she is extremely strong and determined. She is on a competitive gymnastics team, plays volleyball and is a cheerleader. Madelyn is representing Penn State University.

Big Ten Announces Humanitarian and Leadership Awards

ROSEMONT, Ill. – Maryland’s Madieu Williams was chosen as this year’s recipient of the Big Ten’s Dungy-Thompson Humanitarian Award, while Wisconsin’s Russell Wilson received the Ford-Kinnick Leadership Award, the conference announced Tuesday. These awards recognize Big Ten football student-athletes who have achieved success in the areas of humanitarianism and leadership following their academic and athletic careers at a Big Ten university.

Williams played defensive back for the Terrapins from 2001-03, leading Maryland to the 2001 ACC Championship title, 2002 Peach Bowl crown and 2003 Gator Bowl title. He was voted a third-team All-American by The Sporting News and twice earned second-team All-ACC honors. Williams was selected in the second round of the 2004 NFL Draft by the Cincinnati Bengals and spent nine years playing professionally. His efforts off the field led to him being honored as the 2010 NFL Walter Payton Man of the Year.

In 2006, Williams founded The Madieu Williams Foundation, which focuses on health, wellness, nutrition, fitness and education for youth to teach them the importance of a healthy lifestyle. In addition to his foundation, he also established the DIEU’s Crew while with the Minnesota Vikings. The mission has transitioned from Minneapolis to Prince George’s County in Maryland as a life skills program for youth. Each year on Maryland Day, Williams hosts a free football camp, run by former and current Terps and NFL players.

Williams’ philanthropy extended beyond the U.S. borders with PROJECT: Sierra Leone. In 2008, Williams funded the construction of the Abigail D. Butscher Primary School in Calaba Town of Sierra Leone. Born and raised in Sierra Leone, West Africa, Williams established the school in honor of his late mother to offer children of Calaba Town the opportunity to attend school expense-free. The school is fully resourced by the Madieu Williams Foundation.

Williams also decided to give back to his alma mater. In 2009, he donated $2 million to the University of Maryland to help create the Madieu Williams Center for Global Health Initiatives. The center was built to focus on the public health issues in Prince George’s County and Sierra Leone. It is the largest gift to the university by an African American alumnus.

After spending 2007-10 at North Carolina State, Wilson took his talents to Wisconsin, where he played quarterback for the Badgers during the 2011 season. Named the 2011 Griese-Brees Big Ten Quarterback of the Year, he led Wisconsin to the Big Ten Championship title and earned consensus first-team All-Big Ten laurels. Wilson was drafted by the Seattle Seahawks in the third round of the 2012 NFL Draft and championed the organization to back-to-back NFC Championships in 2013 and 2014. In his 10 seasons with Seattle, he led the team to more wins than any other quarterback in team history, held the NFL record for most regular season wins by a quarterback in his first nine seasons and had the second-highest passer rating in NFL history. Currently with the Pittsburgh Steelers, he is a nine-time NFL Pro Bowler, Super Bowl XLVIII Champion and was chosen as the Walter Payton Man of the Year in 2020.

In 2014, Wilson founded the Why Not You Foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to creating real and lasting change in the world by motivating and empowering today’s youth. He celebrated the grand opening of the first Why Not You Academy in 2021, a tuition-free charter public high school to serve systemically underserved students near Seattle. He also collaborated with Feeding America and Wheels Up that year to donate 10 million meals to families experiencing food insecurity as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. The Richmond, Va., native was rewarded the Bart Starr Award for his service during the 2022 Super Bowl weekend.

Wilson also established the Russell Wilson Quarterback Academy as a springboard to develop quarterback prospects using unique and cutting-edge curriculum based on his own experiences and knowledge. It is an extension of the Russell Wilson Passing Academy (RWPA), a summer football camp for children of all ages. Since its inception in 2012, RWPA has held camps in nine cities and worked with more than 9,000 children.

Continuing his passion and commitment to creating opportunities for kids to play football, he was named chairman of NFL Flag and helped found the Russell Wilson NFL Flag League in Seattle.

The Dungy-Thompson Humanitarian and Ford-Kinnick Leadership Awards are part of the Big Ten’s annual awards program. The Dungy-Thompson Humanitarian Award is named for Minnesota’s Tony Dungy and Indiana’s Anthony Thompson. Big Ten Announces Institutional Fines For Michigan, Ohio State

ROSEMONT, ILL. – The Big Ten Conference has determined that the actions of both teams following the Michigan-Ohio State football game on Saturday, November 30, 2024, violated the Big Ten Sportsmanship Policy. Not only did the actions of both teams violate fundamental elements of sportsmanship such as respect and civility, the nature of the incident also jeopardized the safety of participants and bystanders.

As a result of these violations, the Big Ten Conference has issued an institutional fine to both the University of Michigan and The Ohio State University in the amount of $100,000 each.

The Big Ten Conference considers this matter concluded and will have no further comment.

Penn State Earns 2024 Discover Big Ten Football Championship Game Berth

ROSEMONT, Ill. - With a 44-7 victory over Maryland on Saturday, the Penn State Nittany Lions have clinched a berth into the 2024 Discover Big Ten Football Championship Game for the second time in program history. Penn State finishes the 2024 regular season 11-1 overall and 8-1 in conference play.

The 14th annual title game will be played on Saturday, December 7, at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis and will feature the top two teams in the standings for the first time: No. 1 Oregon vs. No. 2 Penn State. The contest will be televised nationally on CBS, with Compass Media Networks providing national radio coverage. The winner will earn the Amos Alonzo Stagg Championship Trophy and a chance to play in the College Football Playoff.

Every Big Ten Football Championship Game ticket will allow complimentary admission to the Big Ten Fan Fest presented by Dr Pepper, to be held at the Indiana Convention Center on Friday and Saturday, Dec. 6-7. Tickets will also grant entry to the inaugural Big Ten Takedown: Illinois vs. Indiana Wrestling Dual on Friday, Dec. 6, in the middle of Fan Fest.

The University of Oregon has secured the No. 1 Seed in the 2024 Discover Big Ten Football Championship Game. The 14th annual title game will be played on Saturday, December 7, at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis and will feature the top two teams in the standings for the first time. The contest will be broadcast on CBS with kickoff set for 8 p.m. ET. Media can apply for credentials by visiting bigten.org/media.
The Big Ten had five teams included in the College Football Playoff’s third rankings of the season on Nov. 26: No. 1 Oregon, No. 2 Ohio State, No. 4 Penn State, No. 10 Indiana and No. 23 Illinois. The CFP will release its next top 25 rankings on Tuesday, Dec. 3.
Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Michigan, Minnesota, Nebraska, Oregon, Ohio State, Penn State, Rutgers, USC and Washington have all secured bowl eligibility by reaching six wins this season, while Michigan State and Wisconsin need just one more win to become eligible. The Big Ten will continue to feature the largest bowl lineup in conference history.

Indiana and Ohio State currently rank among the top 10 nationally in both scoring offense and scoring defense. The Buckeyes lead the nation in scoring defense (10.7 points per game), while ranking 10th in scoring offense (37.8 points per game). The Hoosiers rank second nationally in scoring offense (41.3 points per game), while ranking seventh in scoring defense (14.6 points per game).
Four additional Big Ten teams rank in the top 15 in terms of scoring defense: Penn State (7th, 14.6 points per game), Oregon (8th, 15.7 points per game), Iowa (12th, 17.7 points per game) and Minnesota (15th, 18.5 points per game).
Ohio State’s Seth McLaughlin and Oregon’ Dillon Gabriel were named finalists for the 2024 William V. Campbell Trophy on Oct. 23. The Campbell Trophy is presented annually to the nation’s top football scholar-athlete. The finalists will travel to the Bellagio Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas for the 66th NFF Annual Awards Dinner Presented by Las Vegas on Dec. 10, where one member of the class will be declared as the winner of the 35th Campbell Trophy and have his postgraduate scholarship increased to $25,000.

Oregon’s Matayo Uiagalelei and Washington’s Russell Davis II shared Defensive Player of the Week accolades. Uiagalelei helped No. 1 Oregon improve to 11-0 for the second time in program history with a 16-13 win at Wisconsin, finishing with five total tackles, a sack and a game-sealing interception late in the fourth quarter. Davis II led Washington to a 31-19 win over UCLA, as the Huskies finished their home season 6-0, extending their home win streak to 20 games, longest in modern school history. The junior finished with three quarterback sacks and three tackles.
Special Teams Player of the Week honors went to Oregon’s Atticus Sappington. Sappington helped the Ducks improve to 11-0 for the second time in program history, scoring all six of Oregon’s points in the first quarter. The kicker matched his career-high with three made field goals, converting all three attempts to account for nine of Oregon’s 16 points.
Washington’s Demond Williams Jr. was named Freshmen of the Week after leading three second-half, game-securing scoring drives to help Washington beat UCLA, 31-19, to become bowl eligible. The freshman quarterback helped the Huskies to a field goal and two touchdowns, including a two-yard touchdown pass to Decker DeGraaf with 5:44 left in the game to seal the victory over the Bruins.

ROSEMONT, Ill. – The University of Oregon has secured a berth in the 2024 Discover Big Ten Football Championship Game. The 14th annual title game will be played on Saturday, December 7, at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis and will feature the top two teams in the standings for the first time. The contest will be broadcast on CBS with kickoff set for 8 p.m. ET.

Following a comprehensive evaluation of all possible scenarios over the final two weeks of regular-season play across the conference’s 18 teams, there are no conditions whereby the Ducks do not finish No. 1 or No. 2. A list of those scenarios can be found here.

Oregon is currently ranked No. 1 in the College Football Playoff rankings and head into this weekend’s bye with a perfect 11-0 record, having just completed an uninterrupted stretch of eight consecutive Big Ten games. They will conclude the regular season on Nov. 30 when they host the Washington Huskies.

The city of Indianapolis and Lucas Oil Stadium will play host to the 14th annual Big Ten Football Championship Game on December 7, 2024. Kickoff for the game is set at 8 p.m. ET. The winner will earn the Amos Alonzo Stagg Championship Trophy and a chance to play in the College Football Playoff.

CBS will serve as the official broadcast partner of the Big Ten Football Championship Game.

Michigan has won the last three Big Ten Championship games (2021, 2022, 2023), while Ohio State (2014, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020) has claimed five titles. Wisconsin (2011 and 2012) and Michigan State (2013 and 2015) have each won two Big Ten Championship Games, while Penn State was victorious in 2016. Ohio State and Wisconsin lead all schools with six Big Ten Championship Game appearances each, followed by Michigan State with three, Iowa, Michigan and Northwestern with two each, and one title game berth each for Nebraska, Penn State and Purdue.

Credential Distribution

Media attending the 2024 Discover Big Ten Football Championship Game may pick up credentials at the Southwest Entrance of Lucas Oil Stadium. Credential distribution hours will be 3 –5 p.m. ET on Friday, December 6, and from 4 p.m. ET until halftime on Saturday, December 7. The building will be closed to media on Friday, December 6, with the exception of the Southwest Entrance for credential pickup.

Credential Information

Media will be asked to provide photo identification upon picking up their credentials and will have their credential checked at subsequent entrances. Media will have bags searched and tagged before entering the stadium.

Print and internet writers, radio reporters, and non-broadcast television personnel will be granted Red credentials with a MEDIA designation, which allows access to the press box, press conference, team interview rooms, media hospitality and photo/video workroom, but do not grant access to the field perimeter, team locker rooms, stadium clubs or suite levels.

Print and internet photographers will be granted Green credentials with a PHOTO designation, which allows access to the press box, press conference, team interview rooms, media hospitality and photo/video workroom but do not grant access to team locker rooms, stadium clubs or suite levels. Photographers with Green credentials must wear a gray photo vest to have access to field perimeter (except team bench area).

Credentials with a MEDIA or PHOTO designation will allow admission to Lucas Oil Stadium on Saturday via the media credential pickup location at the Southwest Entrance only.

Media Parking
A limited number of parking passes will be made available to media agencies to park in the South Lot at Lucas Oil Stadium on Saturday, December 7.

Parking accommodations for media on December 7 will be in the South Lot at Lucas Oil Stadium. If you have been approved for parking, a digital parking pass will be sent to your email for the South Lot, which is accessed from Missouri Street. Please note that you must enter the lot from Gate 1.

Due to limited space, no other media parking is available on December 7 for those who did not request parking on their application or had their request for parking denied.

Standup Location

Live television coverage will be limited to the designated stand-up location inside Lucas Oil Stadium – Lucas Oil Plaza located on the Street Level on the north side of the stadium. The Big Ten Conference reserves the right to designate the live stand-up location at Lucas Oil Stadium.

With the exception of CBS and BTN, no television stations may produce live or taped video coverage from Lucas Oil Stadium from 6 p.m. ET until CBS and BTN complete their postgame coverage. The only exceptions for television stations will be postgame press conferences and media availability from the team interview rooms.

Photographers

Photographers and messengers must pick up photo vests in the photo workroom located on the Event Level to obtain field access.

Only working photographers and messengers are allowed on the field during the game. All photographers and messengers must wear credentials and photo vests at all times while working on the field. All credentialed individuals (including those wearing vests) must show their credential at all times.

Photographers must stay behind the yellow striped line farthest from the field and outside of the bench area (between the 20-yard lines on both ends of the field) during the entire time they are on the field, with the exception of team entrances pregame, once the game is over (see definition of “game over” below) and the postgame trophy presentation.

Photographers may have access to the southwest and northwest corners of the field as each team takes the field during pregame. The Home Team (#1 Oregon) will enter the field first from the Southwest Tunnel, followed by the Away Team (#2 Penn State) from the Northwest Tunnel. Each team entrance will have security rope running onto the field. Photographers must stay behind the security rope and return to the sideline once the team has finished entering the field.

The official Big Ten Conference photographer will act in a pool capacity and will be allowed on the field during the team captains meeting with the officials and the coin flip. These photos will be made available to other media outlets upon request.

Photographers, messengers and television personnel from CBS and BTN are not allowed on the field or inside the team bench area until the game is over. “Game over” is defined as follows:

No time remaining on the clock and one team has a lead.
No timeouts left and the team in the lead has the ball and there is less than 39 seconds remaining on the game clock and the quarterback has kneeled down to run out the clock.

Anyone violating “game over” rules may result in sanctions for both the individuals and agencies they represent.

Photographers may have access to the field during the postgame trophy presentation. Lucas Oil Stadium will place a stage for the trophy presentation and will position bike racks around the stage, with team, institutional and conference staff allowed inside the rope. A select number of photographers will receive lanyards granting access inside the bike racks, which may include individuals from the institutions, conference and stadium, and television partners. All remaining media will be allowed to capture photos from outside the bike racks. Lucas Oil Stadium will position three small stages outside the bike racks facing the stage to provide an elevated location for television partners (middle stage) and photographers (two outside stages) to capture the trophy presentation. Photographers must pay attention to the location of the CBS or BTN cameras in order to not block their view or bump television platforms.

Photographers may not bring any equipment to the sideline that cannot be carried. There are no on-field storage areas at Lucas Oil Stadium. The Big Ten Conference and Lucas Oil Stadium do not accept any responsibility for equipment brought on the field or left in the media areas.

Photo vests must be returned at the conclusion of the game in the photo/video workroom (Exhibit Hall 1).

Both head coaches and select student-athletes from each team will be made available to the media in the main press conference area in Exhibit Hall 1 after the postgame cooling-off period ends. All television stations and team videographers must take a feed of these Saturday postgame press conferences from the video distribution area. Additional players will be made available to media in the team interview rooms adjacent to each locker room. Locker rooms will not be open to the media following the game.

PLEASE NOTE: The main press conference is transcribed, while the additional interview opportunities in the team interview rooms are not. Players may be made available in the team interview rooms while that team's coach and additional players attend the main press conference. Players that attend the main press conference are not required to also appear in the team interview rooms.

Pre-Game Meal
A pre-game meal will be served to media representatives from 6 p.m.- 8 p.m. ET at Lucas Oil Stadium. Pre-game meals will be available in the press box and photo workroom on Event Level. Halftime and postgame snacks will also be served in both areas.

Shuttle
All credentialed media are encouraged to use the media shuttle. The media shuttle will run between the Courtyard by Marriott/Springhill Suites and Lucas Oil Stadium between 4:00 p.m. Saturday, December 7th and 3:00 a.m. Sunday, December 8th.

The media shuttle will operate on 30-minute intervals. Pickup from the Courtyard Marriott/Springhill Suites will be in the front roundabout of the Fairfield Inn & Suites located just East of the Marriott/Springhill Suites. Pickup from Lucas Oil Stadium will take place at the Southwest corner of the stadium on South Missouri Street.

Frequency Coordination

All credential holders operating wireless (RF) equipment must frequency coordinate all wireless devices used anywhere on the property of Lucas Oil Stadium, whether it be pregame, during the game or postgame. Coordination includes all microwave transmissions, wireless microphones, IFB, two-way radios, etc., exclusive of cell phones and pagers. Individuals must have this coordination process completed by the Game Day Coordinator (GDC) prior to arriving on site and using the equipment on game day.

In addition to coordinating frequencies, be advised that any type of interference as identified by the GDC (i.e., high power, spurious radiation, etc.) will require the equipment to be shut down immediately. Failure to coordinate RF equipment could result in revocation of credentials and ejection from the property. In addition, Lucas Oil Stadium policy prohibits the use of WIFI hot spots (i.e., "MyFI"). Individuals can initiate this coordination process by contacting Big Ten Football Championship Game media coordinator Megan Althoff.

Credential Terms and Conditions

Conditions placed on the use of credentials appears on the back of each credential as follows:

RELEASE AND WAIVER FOR CREDENTIALS

In consideration for The Big Ten Conference, Inc. allowing the holder of this credential to enter Lucas Oil Stadium, the holder of this credential hereby assumes all risks while on the property of Lucas Oil Stadium and waives, discharges, releases and covenants not to sue The Big Ten Conference, Inc., its member institutions and their respective employees and other agents, including Indiana Sports Corporation, Indiana Convention Center and Lucas Oil Stadium from any and all liability, including, without limitation, liability for personal injury or property loss or damage, which the holder of this credential may sustain while in Lucas Oil Stadium.

CONDITIONS PLACED ON USE OF CREDENTIALS

This working credential is subject in all respects to the Media Credential Criteria and Policies set forth by The Big Ten Conference, Inc. as in effect from time to time. This working credential is issued for the sole purpose of providing facility access to an accredited agency’s employee who has a legitimate working function (media or game service) in conjunction with this event. Any alteration, assignment, duplication, modification, sale, or transfer of this credential is expressly prohibited. Violation of the foregoing or any other unauthorized use of this credential subjects the bearer to ejection from the facility and prosecution for criminal trespass, in addition to all other rights or remedies available to The Big Ten Conference, Inc. By using this working credential, the bearer and accredited organization voluntarily assume any and all risks, hazards, and dangers in connection with or incidental or ancillary to this event, including, without limitation, the risk of personal injury, death, exposure to communicable disease, virus, bacteria, or illness, and lost, stolen, or damaged property, and release, waive, and agree to jointly and severally indemnify The Big Ten Conference, Inc. from and against any claim, damage, expense, liability, or loss arising out of or otherwise related to the same. Any secondary use of any picture, photograph, audio description, video, film/tape, drawing or other description of a game taken or made by the accredited organization or individual to whom this credential has been issued (including, but not limited to use in delayed editorial or non-editorial advertising, sales promotion or merchandising) is prohibited without prior explicit written approval of The Big Ten Conference, Inc. Nothing in these terms and conditions allows, authorizes or grants the bearer of these credentials any right in or to the trademarks, copyright and other proprietary rights of The Big Ten Conference, Inc. and its member institutions, each of which are expressly reserved. A maximum of two minutes (2:00) of game video footage (without audio) may be utilized during the seven (7) days following the conclusion of the game solely within regularly scheduled bona fide news programming distributed via television, including such television programming simulcast on the internet, wireless or other forms of media, but otherwise may not be distributed on the internet, wireless or other forms of media. Holder consents to all searches of persons and property. Holder may not bring alcoholic beverages, bottles, cans or containers, irritants, weapons, projectiles or lasers onto the premises.

ACCEPTANCE OF THIS CREDENTIAL CONSTITUTES AGREEMENT BY THE BEARER AND THE BEARER’S ORGANIZATION TO ABIDE BY THE FOREGOING CONDITIONS, INCLUDING ALL OF THE BIG TEN CONFERENCE, INC.’S MEDIA CREDENTIAL CRITERIA AND POLICIES, THE TERMS OF WHICH ARE INCORPORATED HEREIN BY REFERENCE.

General Policies

Real-time transmission of streaming video, digital images, audio and data, including live game statistics, is exclusive to the official Big Ten Conference website and/or any other website so designated by the conference. All other media outlets are strictly prohibited from transmitting real-time video or audio and/or digital images and/or data.
Seat assignments in the press box for approved entities will be accommodated on a space availability basis. Media agencies approved for multiple credentials to the Championship Game may not have designated seats for all approved representatives.

BIG TEN FOOTBALL RELEASE - WEEK 12 | STANDINGS | MEDIA GUIDE | SCHEDULE

With just two weekends remaining in the regular season, 14 Big Ten teams will take the field this week. The action opens on Friday when UCLA travels to Washington for a 9 p.m. ET kick on FOX. Indiana, Iowa, Michigan and Minnesota will enjoy byes this week, with the complete schedule appearing to the right.
Four Big Ten teams appear in the AP Poll this week, with all four teams appearing in the top five. Oregon leads the conference at No. 1, followed by No. 2 Ohio State, No. 4 Penn State and No. 5 Indiana.
The Big Ten had four teams included in the College Football Playoff’s second rankings of the season on Nov. 12: No. 1 Oregon, No. 2 Ohio State, No. 4 Penn State and No. 5 Indiana. The CFP will release its next top 25 rankings on Tuesday, Nov. 19.
There are just four undefeated teams remaining in the FBS, including two Big Ten teams: Indiana (10-0) and Oregon (10-0). The Hoosiers have a bye this weekend, while the Ducks travel to Wisconsin.
On Monday, the Big Ten announced its Football Players of the Week, presented by IFS.ai. Ohio State’s Will Howard earned Offensive Player of the Week honors after completing at least 80 percent of his passes for the fourth time this season (21 of 26), while generating four total touchdowns to lead the Buckeyes to a 45-0 win over Purdue.
UCLA’s Carson Schwesinger took home Defensive Player of the Week accolades, recording two interceptions, the first two picks of his career, and seven tackles as UCLA notched a 20-17 win over Iowa on Friday. Schwesinger helped limit Iowa (ranked No. 10 in FBS rushing) to just 80 yards on the ground, and just 265 yards of total offense.
Special Teams Player of the Week honors went to Michigan’s Dominic Zvada. Zvada converted a trio of field goals at Indiana (39, 22, 56 yards) and scored nine of team’s 15 total points. His 56-yarder was the third-longest in Memorial Stadium history and second-longest by an opponent. The junior became Michigan’s new career and single-season record holder for most 50-plus yard field goals in a season (5).
Ohio State’s Jeremiah Smith was named Freshmen of the Week after catching six passes for 87 yards and one touchdown and in the process took over school freshman records for all three major categories in the Buckeyes’ win against Purdue. He moved ahead of Ohio State All-American and Pro Football Hall of Famer Cris Carter with 45 receptions, 765 yards and nine receiving touchdowns.
The top-ranked Ducks improved to 10-0 for the third time in school history Saturday with a 39-18 win over Maryland before 59,245 fans in Autzen Stadium. Dillon Gabriel’s three passing touchdowns gave him an FBS-record 180 touchdowns responsible for in his career. Gabriel finished the game 23-of-34 for 183 yards and three scores, plus 28 rushing yards. It was the TD pass to Wilson that pushed him past Case Keenum into first all-time for touchdowns responsible for in FBS history.
Indiana and Ohio State currently rank among the top 15 nationally in both scoring offense and scoring defense. The Buckeyes rank second in scoring defense (10.7 points per game), while ranking 11th in scoring offense (38.6 points per game). The Hoosiers rank second nationally in scoring offense (43.9 points per game), while ranking seventh in scoring defense (13.8 points per game).
Five additional Big Ten teams rank in the top 25 in terms of scoring defense: Penn State (8th, 14.0 points per game), Oregon (9th, 16.0 points per game), Minnesota (13th, 17.7 points per game), Iowa (15th, 18.2 points per game) and Nebraska (21st, 19.1 points per game).
Indiana is 10-0 for the first time in program history and set the program record for wins in a single season. The 7-0 start in conference play extends the best start to a conference slate and sets the record for most Big Ten wins in a single season in program history. IU won six games in 1967, 1987, 2020. The 10-game winning streak is also the longest streak in program history. The previous record was eight consecutive games in the 1945 and 1967 seasons.
The top two teams in the regular season standings will meet in the 2024 Discover Big Ten Championship Game on Saturday, Dec. 7 at Lucas Oil Field in Indianapolis, Ind. The game, which will be broadcast on CBS for the first time ever, will be the first in conference history to match the No. 1 and No. 2 teams in the overall conference standings.
