From clinching a national championship early in her collegiate career to overcoming one of her toughest injuries, Lexi Wright is now a seasoned leader guiding a young UCLA Women’s Soccer squad.

On Sunday, September 7th, No. 18 UCLA stunned No. 1 Stanford with a 2-0 victory, marking the Cardinal's first loss of the season. Wright, returning from a year-long injury, sealed the win in the 79th minute.

In this candid interview, Wright reflects on her goal against No. 1 Stanford, the team’s growth, and the moments that have shaped her both on and off the field.

Andrew McDevitt (Host): Alright, Lexi, how do you feel the team gelled through the first portion of the season?

Lexi Wright: I think that was really crucial for us. I mean, we have 23 underclassmen, so just getting a few games under our belt and figuring out how to work with different people, play different positions. I think it was very good, and we showed it in Stanford. I think that was our best team performance, for sure.

You're a national champion, you've scored big goals throughout your collegiate career. What was it about Sunday's goal that made you so emotional?

It's been a journey. This has been the hardest recovery I've had. I knew going into it, once I did finally get that goal, all the emotions of this past year - over a year... and it’s still been difficult. I knew all that was gonna come out. But yeah, it was a really special moment.

Did you ever doubt during that process that you'd be back on the field scoring big goals in big games?

Yes, many, many times. That goal was definitely a boost of encouragement. I think I needed to just keep pushing.

This is your second goal against a No. 1 ranked team. What is it about No. 1 ranked teams that make you show up and have big moments?

I don't know, man. I love the competitiveness, and Stanford's a great team. I didn't know how much I was gonna get to play, and [I was] just trying to make the most of the minutes I had. Oruha played me such a great ball, and luckily I was able to get at the end of it.

Your family also has an interesting backstory with Stanford. Can you explain a little bit about that?

Yes, yes. So my dad played football at Stanford. My parents met in the Bay Area, so me and my brother grew up going to all the Stanford camps, and my brother went to all the football camps. I had met Marg (UCLA head coach Margueritte Aozasa) at one of those camps when I was a kid, so it's a funny crossover. But my dad now, he's all for the Bruins.

I was gonna ask, was it like a split jersey or no?

No, there's no question. He's all UCLA’d out.

You guys now switch gears and head into conference play. Does the mentality change at all? Do you do anything different as you head into Big Ten play?

I don't think anything has changed, but I think each game we've tried to learn and get better... [We’re] trying to continue that starting off conference play strong coming off of Stanford. I think that will be really crucial for us.

You guys jumped to No. 4 in the coach’s poll. Is that something that's discussed in the locker room, or is that just kind of outside noise?

You know, here and there people mention it. But, especially being older, I'm like, “Guys, it's important to get seeded well to have a home game, but once the tournament hits, it does not matter about the rankings.” You don't want your ego too high or too low, just attacking each game.

How has this experience been for you? You started your career with a ton of success, winning a national championship very early on, and now you're the one that everyone's looking to for that guidance. What can we expect as we head down the stretch?

I think it's been different, especially coming as a fifth year, but also coming back from injury. It's been a little different, just not always being able to be out on the field. But [I've been] trying to be a friend to all the younger girls, showing them the ropes a little bit with being in college and with school starting and how to manage it all. But we have a great group, such young talent, and everyone's excited to be here. They've shown it and done a great job.

This will be your first experience going through a Big Ten Conference schedule. What do you expect heading into that? And is there anything that you learned last year watching your teammates go through the process?

I think time management, especially with the recovery aspect, traveling way farther, obviously. Last year, all my roommates were gone for like 10 days at a time. So, it's definitely a long stretch. Just taking care of your body is super important. But I personally am very excited to see some new places. I'm looking forward to it.

Who was your favorite athlete when you were growing up?

Growing up, okay, going back to Stanford, I actually loved watching Christian McCaffrey, going to all those games. He was one of my favorites growing up.

Are we still pulling for him in the Bay Area, or do you have a different NFL team?

I personally don't have a team. I do like Brock Purdy. I like having family out there. I root for the 49ers, but I wouldn't say I'm a 49ers fan.

My favorite female athlete, I love Sydney McLaughlin though. She's awesome. She runs on the track a lot at Drake [Stadium], and I've met her a few times. I've read her book, so she's a big role model. I'll watch her in the Olympics.

Who are you listening to pregame?

I either like worship music or honestly country music. I love country music. I get teased for it a lot, but I love country music.

Go-to postgame meal?

We always do family catering, so I love pasta, any Italian food, maybe like a Slurpee from 7-Eleven.

Let's say something goes wrong at your apartment. Which teammate are you gonna call to try and fix it?

Nicki Fraser. She's a genius, so I have faith that she could fix whatever goes wrong.

Which Big Ten stadium are you most looking forward to going to this season?

Honestly, Michigan. We go to Michigan next week. I'm very excited to see their school. It's beautiful out there. I've been to lakes, but I'm excited to see their campus and everything.

What is something that most people wouldn't know about Lexi?

I play guitar. I've been getting back into it. I don't think a lot of people know that. I'm not the best at it, but I guess that's a fun fact a lot of people don't know.

We've been doing a team Bible study, so we've been doing some worship and singing, so I think it took a lot of people off guard that I was playing guitar.

What's your favorite place on campus at UCLA that you're gonna miss?

I love the Luskin Hotel. Their lobby, going and studying and sitting in the lounge area has always been my favorite.

Iowa's Kirk Ferentz Becomes Winningest Coach in Big Ten Conference History

ROSEMONT, Ill. – With a 47-7 win over UMass on Saturday, Iowa head football coach Kirk Ferentz collected his 206th career victory, passing Ohio State’s Woody Hayes to become the winningest coach in Big Ten history.

“On behalf of the Big Ten Conference, I want to congratulate Kirk Ferentz on becoming the winningest head coach in Big Ten football history,” said Big Ten Commissioner Tony Petitti. “This achievement is a testament to his leadership, consistency and commitment to excellence over nearly three decades at the University of Iowa.”

“The impact he has made on student-athletes, colleagues, the sport of football and the Iowa City community is immeasurable. We celebrate this historic milestone and the legacy he continues to build within the Big Ten.”

Ferentz won his 205th game as the Hawkeyes defeated Albany, 34-7, on Aug. 30, tying Hayes for the most by a head coach in all games played while a member of the Big Ten. Last season, he joined the former Buckeye legend as the only Big Ten coaches to win 200 games.

Ferentz now leads a list of head coaches that features Hayes (205), Amos Alonzo Stagg (199), Bo Schembechler (194), Joe Paterno (162), Hayden Fry (143), Henry Williams (136), Robert Zuppke (131), Lloyd Carr (122) and Barry Alvarez (118).

From An Overnight in a Car to Team Captain

Dariel Djabome spent a night in his car to attend a Rutgers camp. Now, he’s on full scholarship. The Quebec native’s relentless belief in himself and determination to overcome the odds have made him a standout both on and off the field.

In this exclusive interview, we dive into his incredible story, his rise to success, and the lessons he’s learned along the way.

Andrew McDevitt (Host): A hot start to the season for you guys. You're 2-0, about to get a third straight home game. What's the vibe like around the squad?

Dariel Djabome (DJ): Everybody is just fired up, you know? It's hard winning in college football, especially FBS. So we're not taking anything for granted and we're going to keep chopping.

You have a very interesting backstory growing up in Quebec. What was it like getting involved in football in Canada, and how do you think that impacted your journey to this point?

Football in Canada is not much different from the US. I would say the major difference would be how wide the field is. And then it's 12 on 12 instead of 11 on 11. I would say, the speed, too. The speed and the talent in America is much different.

Growing up in Canada, we don't have much exposure. So, it's hard to get that exposure from coaches, D1 coaches.

How frustrating was that for you? You're a guy that the raw talent just shows right away, but it seems like your recruiting process took time.

Yeah, it was really slow. Coming out of high school, I went to CEGEP first, which is another institution in Quebec that we've got to go through after high school because we don't get middle school. Then from there, it was COVID year. I decided to go to prep in Toronto. It was strictly an American schedule, so I was playing like all the other preps: St. Thomas Moore, St. Francis, all of them. But it was a short season because of COVID.

The summer camp tour comes in, and then I went to a couple camps with some of my former teammates, ended up going to Buffalo. That's where I got my first offer from Maine and Buffalo the same day. And then there was some Rutgers staff over there, Coach Fraser and Coach Hetherman. They were like, "Oh, you're talented, we want to see you at the Rutgers camp." But it's not my decision because I was going from camp to camp with a group of people. And then they kept harassing me. I'm like, "Coach, we really got to go. They really want to see me."

But I didn't know what Rutgers was, you know, where it was at. So, that same day, I have a UMass camp. That same night, we drive down to Jersey, but I don't have anywhere to sleep. So I slept in the car with three of my teammates and my coach in a small Kia Sport. I remember it was a grey Kia Sport. It was hot. Had to fight it through.

And then the next day, I had a private camp, did pretty good, performed in front of them, and then he [Coach Schiano] offered me a full scholarship on the spot.

From there, I was expecting to get back home to Canada that day, but he was like, "You're on an official visit, we're going to fly your brother and your dad." We went to New York City, it was a great time, and the very next day I committed to Rutgers.

Was this a relief to sign as an under-recruited guy? Like, "Man, finally, I have a home, I don't need to worry about this anymore?"

Yes, yes, it was. When they told me, it was Big Ten and all that, I was like, "Yeah, this is perfect for me." It was a tough battle, but all blessings. And I'm grateful to be here.

You still talk to any of those guys that were sleeping in the car?

Not really. But I still talk to my former coach, though.

How much faith and betting on yourself does it take to show up and sleep in a car?

I guess unbelievable belief in yourself, you know? It's not easy. It's not easy knowing that you gotta compete against, you know, the world, the rest of the world to get that scholarship. It's not even 1% that get to play college football, so it takes a lot.

Good for you, man. Last year, an unbelievable season for you. You were a finalist for the Cornish Trophy, given to the top Canadian football player in the country. What would it mean to you to be the first defensive player to get that award?

Last year I wasn't aware of that award. But it would be amazing, not only for me, but for my family, for my friends that supported me back home and for my community.

You're obviously in New Jersey. How does the kid from Quebec make a home in Piscataway, New Jersey?

I mean, Jersey's fine. There's cool people out here. It's not much different from home because I'm still on the east coast, so it wasn't too big of an adjustment.

You guys have a ton of Canadian players on the roster. What is it like to have people come from a similar background?

It's amazing to see, others that basically did the same thing that I had to. We went through the same stuff. It's just a feeling of reassurance. Like okay, there's other people that were fighting for the same [thing]. I wasn't alone and all that, so it's always a good feeling.

Coach Schiano. What does he mean to Rutgers football, and how much fun is it to play for a guy that you know has the same intensity as most of the guys on the field?

I believe that Coach Schiano does it the best at Rutgers University. He knows how to win. His biggest strength is holding everybody accountable, and I'm grateful for that. I'm just grateful to have a coach like that, that keeps pushing his players, his coaches, his staff every day.

What's your message to the young kid that's up there in Canada, grinding, working hard, and can't get through in the recruiting circuit, and is just looking for his one opportunity, just like you were a handful of years ago?

You've got to bet on yourself. That's the first step. Believe in yourself. Because if you don't, there's nobody else that's going to do it for you.

Alright, I've got some rapid fire for you. Who was your favorite athlete when you were growing up?

De'Athony Thomas.

Sideline to sideline. Could you run him down?

He's pretty quick, but for sure.

Who are you listening to pregame?

I would say Rod Wave.

What's your favorite post-game meal?

I would say African food, but we don't get that here. So steak. Rice and steak.

What's the favorite African food you get back home?

I love all my mom's food.

Let's say something goes wrong at your apartment. What teammate are you most likely to call to try and help you fix it?

Jett Elad. He's lived a little bit. I know if I need anything he's always going to show up.

Now, that’s a good teammate. What's your favorite Big Ten away stadium that you've played in?

Well, I would say they're all difficult, you know. All good atmosphere. Yeah, that's a hard one. I would say they're all pretty much the same.

What is one thing that most people don't know about DJ?

I speak multiple languages.

What's your favorite place to go on campus?

25 burger, it's a nice spot.

Is there anyone on the team that could take you one-on-one?

Nuh-uh. They wouldn't even try me.

Big Ten Well-Represented at World Athletics Championships Tokyo ‘25

ROSEMONT, ILL. - After a dominant 2024-25 track & field season that saw the Big Ten take home three NCAA Championships, the World Athletics Championships will be full of athletes with Big Ten ties.

In total, 46 athletes on the women’s side and 34 athletes on the men’s side affiliated with Big Ten universities qualified for the Championships. Team USA’s roster will include 19 current and former Big Ten athletes, and those not competing for Team USA span internationally, representing 27 additional countries from South Africa to Greece.

Of the qualifying athletes, 15 are set to compete in the Big Ten during the upcoming 2025-26 cross country/track & field season.

The Championships begin on Sept. 13 and will be available via streaming on NBC and Peacock. More than 2,000 athletes from 200 countries will travel to Tokyo, Japan to take part in one of the world’s biggest sporting events. Seven Big Ten volleyball programs were among this week’s AVCA/TARAFLEX Top 25, announced on Monday: #1 Nebraska, #6 Wisconsin, #12 Penn State, #13 Minnesota, #14 Purdue, #16 USC and #24 UCLA. Oregon and Indiana received votes.
Seven Big Ten programs remain undefeated through the first two weeks of play. The Big Ten leads all Division I conferences with seven, followed by the ACC (6), Big 12 (5), SEC (2) and Big East (2). Thirty-three teams boast an unblemished record.
Indiana head coach Steve Aird became the fourth coach in program history to record 100 wins. Aird and the Hoosiers are 5-0 for the first time in his tenure and the first time since 2017. The Hoosiers have won 15-straight sets after dropping the first two games of the season. It’s the longest streak by the program since winning 18 consecutive sets during the 2010 campaign.
Iowa is off to its best start (6-0) since 2009. A win over SEMO on Thursday will mark the best start in school history. Through two weekends, setter Claire Ammeraal has been the tournament MVP at the Rebel Challenge and Kwik Star Klassic. Ammeraal has a triple-double, two double-doubles, leads the team in assists (174) and has 56 digs, 36 kills and 13 blocks.
Maryland’s Duru Gökçen was named UMBC Tournament MVP, totaling 20 kills and 21 blocks across the Terps’ 3-0 weekend.
Penn State’s match on Sept. 1 vs. TCU totaled 731,000 viewers on FOX. The Nittany Lions hosted Kentucky on Friday for a top 5 matchup that amassed 554,000 viewers, also on FOX.
Purdue’s Ryan McAleer tallied 30 digs in a 3-2 victory over No. 15 Kansas. It was the most digs by a Boilermaker since 2021, and she became the 12th Boilermaker to tally 30 digs in a single match.
USC won the 2025 Trojan Invitational to move to 5-0 to start the season for the first time under head coach Brad Keller, and the Women of Troy are off to their best start since 2015. The Trojans beat No. 13 Creighton (3-0), UC Santa Barbara (3-2) and San Diego (3-2), and Abigail Mullen was named the tournament’s Most Outstanding Player, while teammates Reese Messer and London Wijay were named to the All-Tournament Team.
Six Big Ten teams are among the top 25 nationally in hitting percentage. Indiana is third nationally with a .347 hitting percentage, followed by Minnesota (8th - .320), Michigan (9th - .319), Rutgers (12th - .307), Nebraska (15th - .302) and Wisconsin (21st - .296).
Michigan State leads the nation in opponent hitting percentage, holding opponents to just a .076 hitting percentage through five matches. The Spartans and first-year head coach Kristen Kelsay are enjoying a 5-0 start to the 2025 season for the first time since 2022.

• Nine of the Big Ten’s 18 teams are mentioned in this week’s AP and US LBM Coaches Polls, announced on Sunday. The AP poll includes No. 1 Ohio State, No. 2 Penn State, No. 4 Oregon, No. 9 Illinois, No. 22 Indiana and No. 23 Michigan, with Nebraska and USC receiving votes. At No. 1, Ohio State leads nine Big Ten teams in the coaches’ poll (No. 2 Penn State, No. 5 Oregon, No. 9 Illinois, No. 19 Indiana and No. 22 Michigan), while Nebraska, USC and Washington also received recognition.

• The Big Ten announced its Big Ten Football Players of the Week, presented by IFS.ai on Monday. Michigan State’s Aidan Chiles and Washington’s Jonah Coleman were named Co-Offensive Players of the Week.

• Chiles recorded a career-high four touchdowns Saturday as the Spartans beat Boston College in double overtime, throwing the game-winning two-point conversion pass to Omari Kelly on the last play of the game. Coleman tied the modern Washington record with five rushing touchdowns in the Huskies' 70-10 win over UC Davis.

• Michigan State’s Jordan Hall captured Defensive Player of the Week honors after recording a career-high 15 tackles in the win over Boston College, with his nine solo stops marking a career best.

• Purdue’s Spencer Porath took home the Special Teams Player of the Week plaudit after registering the fourth multi-field goal game of his career, matching his career high by going 2-for-2 on field goal attempts. Porath connected on field goals from 25 yards and 43 yards, the latter the second-longest of his career.

• Ohio State’s Julian Sayin was named Freshman of the Week after finishing with 18 completions in 19 attempts for 306 yards with four touchdown passes and one interception in the Buckeyes’ 70-0 victory over Grambling State.

• Four Big Ten teams posted shutouts on Saturday, with Minnesota, Nebraska, Ohio State, and Penn State winning a combined 238-0. The Gophers outgained Northwestern State 484-42 in total yards and scored their most points in a game since 2001 (66), while the Huskers recorded their largest shutout since 1986, holding Akron to 175 total yards in the 68-0 victory. The Buckeyes surrendered just 166 total yards and only allowed one possession to cross midfield in the 70-0 victory against Grambling State, while the Nittany Lions held FIU to just 14 first downs, as they rolled to a 34-0 triumph.

• Iowa’s Kirk Ferentz won his 205th game as the Hawkeyes defeated Albany, 34-7, on Aug. 30, tying Woody Hayes for the most by a Big Ten head coach. Last season, he joined the former Buckeye legend as the only Big Ten coaches to win 200 games. Ferentz and the Hawkeyes look to make Big Ten history with a win this weekend against UMass.

• The Big Ten claimed back-to-back national championship titles for the first time since 1942 last season as Ohio State defeated Notre Dame, 34-23, in the 2024 College Football Playoff at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, Georgia. The Buckeyes brought home their sixth national championship to the Horseshoe in Columbus and first since the inaugural CFP National Championship in the 2014-15 season.

• The 2025 Discover Big Ten Championship Game will be held on Saturday, December 6, at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis and will be broadcast by FOX. The winner will represent the conference as the Automatic Qualifier (AQ) to the College Football Playoff.

The city of Indianapolis and Lucas Oil Stadium will play host to the 15th annual Big Ten Football Championship Game on December 6, 2025. Kickoff for the game is set at 8 p.m. ET. The winner will earn the Amos Alonzo Stagg Championship Trophy and a chance to play in the College Football Playoff.

FOX will serve as the official broadcast partner of the Big Ten Football Championship Game.

Oregon was crowned the 2024 Big Ten Football Champion following a 45-37 victory against Penn State. Michigan has won three Big Ten Championship games (2021, 2022, 2023), while Ohio State (2014, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020) has claimed five titles. Wisconsin (2011 and 2012) and Michigan State (2013 and 2015) have each won two Big Ten Championship Games, while Penn State was victorious in 2016. Ohio State and Wisconsin lead all schools with six Big Ten Championship Game appearances each, followed by Michigan State with three, Iowa, Michigan, Northwestern and Penn State with two each, and one title game berth each for Nebraska and Purdue.

How do I access my digital tickets?

If you purchased tickets via Ticketmaster during the public on-sale:

1. Login to your Ticketmaster account.

How do I accept tickets someone transfers to me?

To accept tickets via desktop or laptop computer

1. Locate the email with the details about the ticket transfer

2. Within the email, click “Accept Tickets”

3. To finalize the transfer, you’ll need to Login to your Ticketmaster account the tickets were transferred to. If you’re unsure, just use the same email address the email was sent to.

To accept tickets via mobile

1. Click on the link within the text message or email received

2. Login to your Ticketmaster Account

3. View tickets in your “My Account” by clicking the link “View Tickets”

How do I transfer tickets?

If you’re sending/transferring tickets:

1. Sign to My Account and click on your event to find your tickets

2. Click the “Transfer Tickets” button

3. Select the tickets you’d like to transfer

4. Enter your recipient's first and last name, email address and an optional note.

5. Click the “Send” button

When transferring tickets, we’ll send you two (2) emails: one confirming your ticket(s) have been sent and another when your recipient accepts the tickets you sent. Your recipient will also receive an email prompting them to accept your tickets. Once the ticket transfer has been accepted, the tickets in your account are no longer valid and you will not be able to get into the event with those tickets.

*Those receiving a ticket transfer must have a Ticketmaster My Account. If they do not have an account, they can easily create one when they accept the tickets.

What if my entire party isn't with me when I'm ready to enter the game and I have their digital tickets?

Transfer tickets in advance – so you don’t have to wait to get your game on! Since each person entering the venue will need a ticket to get in, you can easily transfer each member their ticket individually and prior to arrival. You can have multiple tickets on a single phone, but we recommend transferring each attendee their individual ticket. Visit My Account to get started.

Can I transfer tickets that someone transferred to me?

Yes, you can transfer tickets an unlimited amount up until the kickoff of the game and it is free.

Can I cancel a ticket transfer?

We know plans change, if you transferred tickets but need to cancel, you can do so in just a few steps. You may only cancel the ticket transfer if the tickets have not been accepted by the recipient. If they have been accepted, you will not be able to cancel, and the recipient must transfer the tickets back to you.

If the tickets have not been accepted:

1. Login to My Account and click on your event

2. Click the “Cancel Transfer” link next to the ticket you have sent

3. Complete your cancellation by clicking “Submit”

Both you and the recipient will receive emails stating the transfer has been canceled. You may now set-up a new ticket transfer or use them yourself.

Someone transferred tickets to me, but I lost the email. What do I do?

If this happens weeks or days before the game and you have not accepted the tickets yet, ask the provider to cancel the original transfer and transfer the tickets again. On the day of the game, provide the Ticket Office, located at the southeast corner of Lucas Oil Stadium, with your email address or name that the tickets were sent to. We will be able to assist and pull your tickets up through the account, then text you a direct link to access them.

Can I print my ticket from home?

No, all tickets are fully digital and only accessible via your mobile device. Your phone is your ticket.

Can I use a screenshot of my ticket?

No, a secure digital ticket must be presented either within the app, the mobile website or within your phone's wallet to gain entry into Lucas Oil Stadium. Screenshots will not be valid for entry.

What if I lose connectivity or cannot connect to my account?

To ensure entry into the game, we recommend downloading your tickets to your phone (Apple Wallet or Google Pay) before the day of the game. Once your tickets are stored there, you do not need any connectivity to access.

What if my phone breaks, dies, or is lost/stolen before I arrive?

Simply come to the box office on event day, present your photo ID, and verify either your email address or mobile phone number. At that point, we'll verify that you are the ticket holder of record and provide a ticket resolution.

Will the scanners at venues work through phone screen covers?

Yes - there should be no issue using a phone that has a clear screen protector.

Is there anything I need to do when I get to the venue to scan my mobile?

Make sure the backlight on the phone is set nice and bright. Scanners work much better with a bright screen, and it will save time at the venue entrance changing this if the ticket won't scan.

2025 TICKETS TERMS OF USE

By purchasing, accepting and/or using this ticket (“Ticket”) for entry into Lucas Oil Stadium (“Facility”) and access to the 2025 Discover Big Ten Conference Football Championship Game (“Event”), the person seeking entry to the Event (“Holder”) is deemed to have read the terms and conditions provided herein (“Terms”) applicable to Holder’s use of this Ticket and accepted and, therefore, agreed to be bound by them. The Ticket provides the Holder with a revocable and personal license to access the Facility and attend the Event, which may not be assigned or transferred by the Holder. The license granted to the Holder by this Ticket may be revoked or terminated upon any unauthorized use of the Ticket or any other breach of these Terms or any Policies contained herein without refund. Additionally, any breach of these Terms or any Policies may subject the Holder to applicable legal consequences.

Holder accepts and assumes any and all risk in connection with any ticket for the Event not obtained from a source authorized by Management and acknowledges and agrees that any such ticket may be stolen or counterfeit and may not be honored in Management’s sole discretion. Holder further acknowledges and agrees that lost, stolen, or damaged tickets may neither be replaced nor refunded. A change in the date, location, and/or starting time of the Event shall not constitute a revocation or cancellation of the Ticket and shall not entitle Holder to any refund of the Ticket or any amounts paid in connection with the same. Every person, regardless of age, must have a Ticket to enter the Facility. The Ticket allows for a one-time entry to the Event, and Holder will not be entitled to readmittance if Holder leaves the Facility for any reason.

Holder acknowledges and agrees that Holder has no right or expectation of privacy at the Event and consents to any and all searches of their person, including all items being carried onto the premises of the Event prior to or upon entry into the Facility and/or any other security checkpoints in or at the Facility or area therein. Holder may place personal items in a clear bag not to exceed 12” by 6” by 12” and/or may carry a small clutch bag no larger than 4.5” by 6.5”. Holder understands that all other bags, including any purses, backpacks, duffel bags, or any other similar items are prohibited and may be confiscated or disposed of by Management in its sole discretion.

Holder further agrees that outside alcoholic beverages or food, as well as any weapons (including any item Management may deem is or could be used as a weapon), bottles/tumblers, cans or containers, irritants (e.g., artificial noisemakers, etc.), projectiles, video cameras, strobe-lights or laser pointers are prohibited from the Event and Holder shall not bring any of the same in the Facility. Holder shall not take or record any video footage of the Event without prior express permission of the Big Ten Conference; provided, however, nothing herein shall limit or restrict Holder from taking photographs and distributing the same for Holder’s personal use only, and not for commercial, promotional, or business purposes.

Signs, flags or banners are not permitted within, and shall not be affixed to, the Facility without the approval of Management in its sole discretion. Promotional items (e.g., shakers, cups, flags, signs, etc.) with commercial slogans or identification are not allowed in the Facility without the permission of the Big Ten Conference. Unless expressly authorized in writing in advance by the Big Ten Conference, this Ticket may not be offered as a prize in a sweepstakes, contest or other promotion, or for any other commercial purpose. Holder may not solicit contributions or distribute literature in or at the Facility or otherwise on or about the premises. Nothing in these Terms grants Holder a right to use any trademarks, logos, or other intellectual property of the Big Ten Conference or any of its member institutions.

In the event the image, likeness, name, or voice of the Holder appears or is otherwise included in any broadcast, telecast, photograph, video, film, digital transmission, audio recording, social media post, retransmission, and/or other media production, depiction, or recording of the Event, Holder grants to the Big Ten Conference, the nonexclusive, transferable, perpetual, irrevocable, royalty-free, and unrestricted right and license to use, record, display, publish, reproduce, license, distribute, sublicense, and create derivative works from or including the name, image, likeness, and/or voice of Holder worldwide in any media now known or hereafter devised. Holder also grants permission to the Big Ten Conference, the Big Ten Conference’s designated media partner(s), and the Facility, including each of their respective affiliates and licensees, to utilize the Holder’s actions, image, likeness, name, voice, and statements in any medium (including, without limitation, audio, video, photograph, transmission, exhibition, or reproduction) or context for any purpose, including commercial or promotional purposes, without further authorization or compensation.

Holder voluntarily assumes all risks incidental to the Event and any causes thereof, including, without limitation, risks related to personal injury, exposure to communicable and/or infectious disease, death, or disability, property damage, loss, or theft, and Holder agrees to release, defend, indemnify and hold harmless, waive and discharge, and covenant not to sue the Big Ten Conference and its member institutions; the Facility, including, but not limited to, Lucas Oil Stadium, the City of Indianapolis, the Marion County Convention and Recreational Facilities Authority, the Indiana Sports Corporation, Capital Improvement Board of Managers of Marion County, Event management and/or promoters, lessors and/or owners of the facility; the Event participants, and each of their respective directors, officers, affiliates, heirs, beneficiaries, members, employees, volunteers, coaches, officials, independent contractors, equipment providers, agents, representatives, successors and assigns; and all other related and affiliated individuals and entities, and any and all other individuals and entities involved in and/or participating in the Event (collectively, the “Event Organizers”) from all claims, liabilities, demands, causes of action, losses, fees, damages, and expenses of any kind (collectively, “Claims”), whether directly or indirectly arising from or related to Holder’s attendance at the Facility and/or Event, including Claims attributable to the negligence of the Event Organizers.

Holder also fully assumes, acknowledges, and agrees to the Terms – including the acknowledgement, express assumption of risk, and release of liability above – on Holder’s own behalf and on behalf of any minor child(ren) at the Facility with Holder for whom Holder has the capacity to contract or bind. Holder shall indemnify and hold harmless the Event Organizers from any and all Claims arising out of or related to any act or omission, including any allegation thereof, by Holder or any such minor child(ren), including any breach of any Term herein. Further, in the event Holder brings any minor child(ren) for whom Holder does not have the capacity to contract or bind, Holder agrees to defend, indemnify, and hold the Event Organizers harmless from and against any Claims brought by or on behalf of any such minor child(ren).

This acknowledgement, express assumption of risk, and release of liability is intended to be as broad and inclusive as is permitted by law. If any part of this provision or these Terms is held to be invalid or legally unenforceable for any reason, the remainder of the provisions and Terms shall not be affected thereby and shall remain valid and fully enforceable.

2025 TICKET BACK LANGUAGE

This Ticket is subject to the 2025 Discover Big Ten Conference Football Championship Game Terms of Use (the “Terms”). The Terms can be accessed at www.bigten.org/FCG. Capitalized terms not otherwise defined herein shall have the meanings given to them in the Terms. Any instances in which the language herein conflicts with the Terms, the language of the Terms shall control. Without limiting the foregoing or anything otherwise provided in the Terms, Holder accepts the foregoing as a condition of use of this Ticket.

Holder agrees to comply with any and all Policies in connection with the Event and/or Facility. Holder may be ejected or refused entry to the facility for violation of any Policy, or if Management, in its sole discretion, determines Holder poses a risk to the health or safety of other persons at the Facility, without providing a refund for the Ticket. Additionally, a breach of the Terms or Policies may subject Holder to legal consequences, each of which are expressly reserved.

Holder acknowledges and agrees that Holder alone is responsible for any lost, damaged, stolen, or counterfeit ticket for the Event, and that the Big Ten Conference shall not be responsible to honor, refund, or replace any such ticket.

FOOTBALL CHAMPIONSHIP GAME: STADIUM POLICIES

DOORS OPENING

Doors will open for the Discover Big Ten Football Championship Game at 6:15 p.m. ET

ENTRANCE

Whenever possible, fans should use the stadium entrance noted on their tickets. Stadium staff will assist fans by identifying entrances and exits with reduced congestion.

Ticketing will be almost completely mobile to create a more safe and secure entry experience for fans.

CONCESSIONS/MERCHANDISE

The Big Ten Football Championship Game will be cashless. Accepted forms of payment at concessions and the Colts Pro Shop include: Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover, Apple Pay, and Google Pay. Cash-to-card machines will be available for fans who need to exchange their cash for pre-paid debit cards. These machines will be available outside sections 116 and 543.

Alcoholic beverages will be allowed through the end of the third quarter throughout Lucas Oil Stadium for the Football Championship Game.

FIRST AID

First Aid stations are areas available to guests with disabilities and other who may require temporary refuge for a variety of reasons. First Aid personnel will be available to assist guests needing temporary refuge. Indiana University Medical provides First Aid to all public events inside Lucas Oil Stadium. The main First Aid office is located in the northwest corner of Street Level, across from section 145. There are four satellite First Aid Stations throughout the building, located on the Street Level across from section 118, on the Loge Level near section 323 and two located on the Terrace Level near sections 519 and 544. For emergencies during events, please find the nearest security person or usher and they will dispatch help to you, or contact Lucas Oil Stadium at 317-262-8600. Please refer to the stadium maps for exact locations.

GUEST SERVICES

Guest Services staff will be stationed throughout the stadium, and can assist guests with general inquiries, lost and found, directions, emergencies, as well as, assist with accommodations for guests with disabilities. There are six (6) guest services kiosks located throughout the stadium.

Lucas Oil Stadium is a fully accessible facility. All gates and entrances are accessible using wheeled mobility devices.

The South Lot is located on the corner of Missouri St. and McCarty St. directly adjacent to Lucas Oil Stadium. The South Lot will be open on Friday and will require a pass to enter on Saturday. Spaces will be allotted for the Big Ten Conference, administration from Big Ten member institutions, corporate partners, BTN and select game management personnel. Passes for this lot will be distributed by the Big Ten Conference.

GUEST CONDUCT POLICY

Big Ten football fans are the best in all of college sports because of their passion, enthusiasm, and team support. The players, coaches, staff and fans shape the Big Ten image. We encourage our fans to create a high-energy environment supporting their favorite team while maintaining a family-oriented atmosphere.

Lucas Oil Stadium has established Rules of Conduct that will allow everyone in attendance at the stadium to enjoy all aspects of a Big Ten game. Any violations of these rules could result in immediate ejection from the stadium.

These rules include, but are not limited to:

Anyone not credentialed attempting to enter the playing field, or unauthorized entry onto the playing field, and interfering with the progress of the game
Refusing to show ticket when asked by a stadium representative
Attempting to sit in seats for which you are not properly ticketed
Using foul or abusive language or gestures
Threatening other patrons with words and/or actions
Fighting
Throwing or kicking any object in LOS or onto the playing field
Interfering with other guests’ ability to enjoy the game
Wearing clothing with abusive or vulgar terminology or inappropriate photographs or symbols
Wearing obscene or indecent clothing
Standing on seats
Stepping over chairs from one row to another
Standing, sitting or loitering in aisles, stairs, ramps or other areas of conveyance
Placing food or beverages on walls, ledges or overhands that may spill or drop on guests below
Running or jogging in Lucas Oil Stadium
Disorderly conduct
Public Intoxication
Possession or use of drugs
Public indecency
Obstructing justice
Criminal trespass
Selling items or tickets on Lucas Oil Stadium property
Distributing or displaying handbills without prior consent
Smoking (except outside gates) or spitting

INSPECTION & INAPPROPRIATE ITEMS

All guests will be subject to inspection upon entering Lucas Oil Stadium. The following items are not permitted in Lucas Oil Stadium: food and beverage items, bottles, cans, liquor containers, tumblers, weapons, coolers, bags, large purses, backpacks, video recorders, horns, artificial noisemakers, large signs, promotional items with commercial slogans or identification, all forms of fireworks, animals except for ADA service animals, any objects that obstruct another guest’s view of the playing field and any missile-like objects. Items that are considered irritants will also not be allowed inside Lucas Oil Stadium. These irritants include, but are not limited to: laser pointers, strobe lights, oversized flags, banners, or signs. The Big Ten Football Championship Game management staff will determine whether a specific item in this category represents an “irritant” to other patrons and whether it should be prohibited. Please be advised that nothing larger than a small personal handbag, subject to inspection, will be permitted inside Lucas Oil Stadium.

2025 Discover Big Ten Football Championship Game: Clear Bag Policy

A clear bag policy, similar to that used by the NFL, College Football Playoff, and other conference championship games will be in effect for the Big Ten Championship Game at Lucas Oil Stadium.

The clear bag policy affects the type and size of bags that are permitted into the stadium - not the items that fans normally need to bring to a game. Each fan may bring in items such as keys, makeup, combs, phones, wallets and credit cards. Fans may still bring items such as binoculars and cameras, provided they are not in cases, and may also carry a jacket into the stadium.

Bags must satisfy the guidelines below in order to be taken into Lucas Oil Stadium:

Bags that are clear plastic, vinyl or PVC and do not exceed 12" x 6" x 12" or 30.5 x 15.25 x 30.5 cm. This includes clear backpacks, clear fanny packs, and clear cinch bags that fit within the permissible dimensions.
One-gallon clear plastic freezer bag (Ziplock bag or similar)
Small bags, non-clear bags that do not exceed 4.5" x 6.5" in size, with or without a handle or strap can be taken into the stadium with one of the clear plastic bags.
An exception will be made for medically necessary items after proper inspection at the following gates: Northwest corner (employee entrance) OR Southeast corner (adjacent to Ticket Office)

Bags containing medical devices and related supplies, including breast pumps, are not subject to the clear bag policy, but will be subject to security screenings, including search, at the gates. All other bags, including diaper bags, must adhere to the clear bag policy. Diapers can be carried in a clear bag. Each member of a family, including children, is allowed to carry an approved clear bag into the stadium. Breast milk and required medications are permitted inside the stadium in clear bags or clear containers.

Prohibited items include, but are not limited to: coolers (unless medically necessary), briefcases, non-clear backpacks, non-clear fanny packs, diaper bags (unless medically necessary), non-clear cinch bags, non-approved seat cushions (unless medically necessary), luggage of any kind, computer bags and camera or binocular bags or any non-clear bag larger than the permissible size (4.5" x 6.5").

The Big Ten is encouraging fans to arrive early and leave any unnecessary items at home or in their cars. Gates at Lucas Oil Stadium will open at 6:00 p.m. ET on the day of the championship game to accommodate early arriving fans.

Working personnel, including media, will continue to enter Lucas Oil Stadium through designated gates where they will be subject to screening and bag inspections already in effect for the Big Ten Football Championship Game.

Every 2025 Discover® Big Ten Football Championship Game ticket will allow complimentary admission into Big Ten Fan Fest presented by Dr Pepper at the Indiana Convention Center Friday, Dec. 5, from 3 p.m. until 9 p.m. ET and Saturday, Dec. 6, from 10 a.m. until 8 p.m. ET. More than 200,000 square feet in the Indiana Convention Center will be dedicated to interactive games, entertainment, Big Ten merchandise, giveaways, food and beverages, and much more.
Band performances will be held on Saturday, Dec. 6, with the Away Team (#2) band and cheerleaders performing at 5:15 p.m. ET, followed by the Home Team (#1) band and cheerleaders at 6 p.m. ET.
For individuals without game tickets, Big Ten Fan Fest tickets may be purchased at www.ticketmaster.com. ROSEMONT, lll. – The Big Ten Conference announced Thursday preseason honors for 54 student-athletes who were included on the Big Ten Women’s Golfers to Watch List.

The Watch List includes 11 golfers who earned All-Big Ten recognition last season, including Big Ten Golfer of the Year and Championship medalist Kiara Romero (Oregon) andNorthwestern’s Ashley Yun and Hsin Tai Lin, who each played important roles in the Wildcats’ 2025 NCAA Championship run.

2025 First Teamers Kary Hollenbaugh (Ohio State), Jasmine Koo (USC), Catherine Park (USC), SuvichayaVinjichaitham (Oregon), eight of the Top-10 finishers from the 2025 Big Ten Women’s Golf Championships, and 16 student athletes who earned Academic All-Big Ten distinction last year rounded out the list.

The 2025-26 golf season teed off last week for the Big Ten, and the league placed five teams in the preseason WGCA Top-25, including four in the Top-15 (No. 2 Oregon, No. 4 USC, No. 10 Northwestern, and No. 15 Ohio State).

• All 18 teams will be in action this week, highlighted by a top-20 matchup on Saturday between No. 15 Michigan at No. 18 Oklahoma. The complete Week 2 schedule is to the right.

• The Big Ten combined to go 16-2 in Week 1 contests, highlighted by Ohio State defeating No. 1 Texas, 14-7. The Buckeyes have now won six straight games against AP top-five teams, tying the longest streak in Big Ten history and becoming just the seventh FBS team all-time to have a streak of that length. It was their first regular season win against the AP No. 1 team since 1985.

• The Big Ten announced its first Big Ten Football Players of the Week, presented by IFS.ai on Monday. USC’s Jayden Maiava and Washington’s Jonah Coleman were named Co-Offensive Players of the Week.

• Maiava went 15-of-18 (.833) with a pair of touchdowns for 295 yards with a long of 73 yards to lead the Trojans to a 73-13 victory over Missouri State to open the 2025 season. Coleman led Washington to a 38-21 win over Colorado State, rushing for 177 yards and two touchdowns on 24 carries. He also scored on the game’s opening drive, a 26-yard run, and scored the game’s final touchdown, from three yards out in the fourth quarter.

• Wisconsin’s Preston Zachman claimed Defensive Player of the Week honors after recording a pair of interceptions in Wisconsin’s 17-0 win over Miami (OH). The safety also recorded a pair of solo tackles, helping the Badger defense hold Miami (OH) to only 117 total yards and an 0-for-9 clip on third down, marking the Badgers’ first shutout since the 2022 opener.

• Illinois’ Hank Beatty captured Special Teams Player of the Week accolades after breaking the Illini’s 102-year-old single-game punt return yardage record, totaling 133 yards on four punt returns to break Red Grange’s record set in 1923 (125 yards). Highlighting Beatty’s punt returns was a 69-yard touchdown in the third quarter, Illinois’ first punt return touchdown since 2013.

• Maryland’s Malik Washington completed 27 of 43 passes for 258 yards, three touchdown and zero interceptions in his first career game en route to Freshman of the Week honors. Washington’s three touchdown passes were the most in a true freshman’s debut in the Big Ten since 2009 (Michigan’s Tate Forcier), the most by a true freshman in a Power Conference since 2018 (Clemson’s Trevor Lawrence) and the most by a true freshman in a debut against an FBS school since UCLA’s Josh Rosen in 2015.

• In his 27th season in Iowa City, Kirk Ferentz won his 205th game, which ties Woody Hayes for the most by a Big Ten head coach. Last season, he joined the former Buckeye legend as the only Big Ten coaches to win 200 games. The Hawkeyes defeated Albany, 34-7, making the Great Danes the 63rd different program Ferentz has beaten as the Hawkeyes head man.

79 Big Ten volleyball matches will be televised nationally on Big Ten Network, FOX, FS1, NBC and Peacock for the 2025 season. Big Ten Network will broadcast at least 63 matches, featuring all 18 conference schools. NBC will broadcast two matches this fall: UCLA vs. USC on Saturday, October 11 at 3:30 p.m. ET, and Minnesota vs. Nebraska on Saturday, November 8 at 3:30 p.m. ET. Seven Big Ten volleyball programs were among this week’s AVCA/TARAFLEX Top 25, announced on Monday: #1 Nebraska, #5 Penn State, #8 Wisconsin, #14 Minnesota, #17 Purdue, #19 UCLA and #22 USC. Oregon received votes in the poll for the second consecutive week. Nebraska was a unanimous No. 1 selection.

Iowa won its first three matches to begin the 2025 campaign. The Hawkeyes last started their season 3-0 in 2019. With a win on Thursday, it would be the first time Iowa has started a season 4-0 since 2016.
No. 17 Purdue opens its home schedule with the Stacey Clark Classic, a three-day, four-team tournament featuring three top-25 programs, including the Boilermakers. Purdue has won every Stacey Clark Classic since the tournament was dedicated to Boilermaker fan Stacey Clark in 2016. Purdue is 21-0 in Stacey Clark Classic matches and will look to remain perfect, playing No. 23 Georgia Tech, No. 15 Kansas and Bowling Green.
Match times for the 2025 NCAA Volleyball National Semifinals and National Championship in Kansas City were announced on Tuesday. Semifinal matches will be played on Thursday, December 18, at 6:30 p.m. ET and 30 minutes following the first match on ESPN. The National Championship will be on Sunday, December 21, with first serve on ABC at 3 p.m. ET.

The First Seven Set the Standard

The Big Ten's story begins on January 11, 1895, when university presidents gathered at Chicago's Palmer House hotel with a mission that would reshape college athletics.

Led by Purdue President James H. Smart, representatives from the University of Chicago, Illinois, Michigan, Minnesota, Northwestern, and Wisconsin established principles that prioritized academic integrity alongside athletic competition

On February 8, 1896, faculty representatives from these seven institutions officially founded what was named the "Intercollegiate Conference Athletic Association" in 1905

The Western Conference, as it was commonly known, immediately distinguished itself by requiring athletes to meet entrance requirements and complete a full year's academic work—revolutionary standards for the time

Early Adjustments and the Big Ten Name

When Michigan returned, the "Big Ten" name was born. Media members were the first to use it in 1917, but the conference wouldn't formally adopt it until 1987.

Ten Strong (1950-1989): Forty Years of Excellence

For nearly four decades, the Big Ten operated with the same 10 schools—Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Michigan, Michigan State, Minnesota, Northwestern, Ohio State, Purdue, and Wisconsin—and dominated college athletics while advancing academic excellence.

During this era, the conference established many of its defining characteristics:

The Big Ten Medal of Honor, instituted in 1915, became the most prestigious award for student-athletes with an educational emphasis

The exclusive Tournament of Roses partnership, formalized in 1946, created the first permanent bowl-conference affiliation

The groundbreaking revenue-sharing model, introduced in 1955, ensured equitable distribution of television proceeds among all members

Penn State: Moving Forward

The addition of Penn State in 1990 marked the beginning of the Big Ten's modern expansion philosophy. ROSEMONT, lll. – The Big Ten Conference announced Wednesday preseason honors for 54 student-athletes who were included on the Big Ten Men’s Golfers to Watch List.

The Watch List is headlined by 12 student-athletes who earned All-Big Ten distinction last year, including the 2025 Freshman of the Year Baylor Larrabee of UCLA. It also includes 11 golfers who finished inside the Top-15 at the 2025 Big Ten Men’s Golf Championships, led by Maryland’s Emil Riegger and Michigan State’s Lorenzo Pinili who tied for fifth place, and 17 who received Academic All-Big Ten honors last season.

This spring, the Big Ten Men’s Golf Championships (May 1-3) will unfold at Pumpkin Ridge Golf Club in North Plains, Ore., while the 2026 NCAA Golf Championships will be hosted for a third consecutive year at Omni La Costa Resort & Spa in Carlsbad, California.

ROSEMONT, lll. – The Big Ten Conference announced its 2025 Field Hockey Players to Watch List on Wednesday. Preseason honors were bestowed upon 15 student-athletes who earned All-Big Ten honors last season.

The 27-member Watch List features three Big Ten award winners from last season in Northwestern’s Maddie Zimmer (Player of the Year) and Ashley Sessa (Offensive Player of the Year) and Josie Hollamon of Maryland (Defensive Player of the Year).

Zimmer, Sessa and Hollamon were tabbed All-Americans by the National Field Hockey Coaches Association and are joined on the Watch List by returning NFHCA All-Americans in Abby Tamer (Michigan), Ilse Tromp (Northwestern), Makenna Webster (Ohio State) and Paulina Niklaus (Rutgers).

The 2025 field hockey season begins Friday with seven of the conference’s nine teams ranked in the Penn Monto/NFHCA National Coaches Poll. Defending NCAA champion Northwestern enters the season as the nation’s top-ranked team.
