Illinois Claims Men's Tennis Player of the Week Award
ROSEMONT, Ill. – Junior Kenta Miyoshi of Illinois has been named Men’s Tennis Player of the Week by the Big Ten Conference for Sept. 12-15, the opening week of the 2024-25 season. The Big Ten has expanded its tennis player of the week award program to include fall competition for the first time.

Jr. – Kawasaki, Japan – Mita International School
- Recorded four-straight wins against ranked opponents to win the singles consolation draw at the Battle in the Bay Classic held in San Francisco
- Produced straight-set wins over 103rd-ranked Maxi Homberg of Pepperdine, 37th-ranked Pedro Vives of TCU, 109th-ranked Casper Christensen of Arizona and 91st-ranked Savriyan Danilov of San Diego
- Partnered with Karlis Ozolins to reach the quarterfinals in doubles, finishing 5-2 overall at the Classic which drew 13 schools from across the nation
- Currently ranked 42nd in the ITA singles rankings
- The Big Ten Distinguished Scholar captures his first career Big Ten weekly honor
