Michigan State Captures Men's Tennis Player of the Week Award
ROSEMONT, Ill. – Senior Max Sheldon of Michigan State has been named Men’s Tennis Player of the Week by the Big Ten Conference for matches played Sept. 20-24.

- Generated a 5-0 singles mark during a four-day span to qualify for the main singles draw at the ITA All-American Championships in Tulsa, Okla.
- Advanced out of the pre-qualifying and qualifying brackets, defeating three Big Ten opponents along the way — No. 13 seed Christopher Li of Ohio State, 96th-ranked Alexander Hoogmartens of UCLA and William Mroz of Illinois
- Rallied from a set down in three-straight matches and was one of just five pre-qualifiers (out of a field of 128) to reach the main draw
- Partnered with Matthew Forbes to post a doubles win over the 60th-ranked tandem of Gus Tettamble and Timothy Carlsson Seger on Tulsa’s home court
- The two-time Academic All-Big Ten selection earns his first Big Ten weekly award
